Bar Castello

En allant visiter le Château Castello, nous allons manger juste avant dans ce restaurant situé à quelques mètres de l'entrée Sud-Est.

Je choisis uniquement une pizza, celle-ci était tout à fait correct.

Le petit hic, c'est le temps d'attente pour se faire servir, c'était assez long, juste pour par exemple nous donner les cartes du menu. Mise à part le temps, le service était très bien, les serveurs étaient très cordiales !

Enfin les toilettes seraient payantes, il y a quelqu'un qui, avec une panière, récoltait de l'argent à l'entrée/sortie des toilettes. C'est un peu inadmissible je trouve.

I don't typically write reviews. But I was so angered that I decided I definitely need to write this. I'm traveling with a group of ten. Six people of the group decided to come into the cafe to grab a glass a wine after touring Castello Sforzesco. The last four of us was walking back from the castle and decided to join our group at the adjoining table. My cousin tried to order a hot chocolate -- they said no. My cousin then tried to order some tea and the server also said no. I wanted to order a cafe con panna. However, his response was there's four of you, not possible with just coffee. Ciao. Asked the four of us to leave.

With our other group all ordering wine, I wasn't sure why I couldn't just order a coffee. I then told my adjoining table with the rest of us that I couldn't get my coffee, they were just as confused as I was. He then looked at me and said that I could order the coffee. Proceeded to tell me to have a seat and that he'd make the coffee. Our other group that got wine, ordered a specific bottle. After an entire menu full of wine he told them there was only one bottle available. When they bought on the wine glasses it was all clearly wet. We had to ask for napkins to dry the glasses.

Overall, this experience was just outrageous. I get it it's a tourist area. But, it's 7PM and it's absolutely empty. Wasn't sure what the wet wine glasses was about. Wasn't sure what the lack of availability of menu options. Definitely wasn't sure why he'd rather ask me to leave than let me buy a cup of coffee.

Avoid this place. There's plenty of other options nearby.

Food & gelato surprisingly the best I had in Milan.
It's so close to the castle than I thought it would be too touristy & quite bad.

Far from it. Our server was even excellent. She was quick, efficient, & had just enough attitude that I enjoyed her a lot.

Would come back only if she was my server.

The pizza tastes like a frozen pizza. Nothing special. Wait staff is not too great either.

Cool location good price and tasty risotto with a great view to the Castillo. The service is also very good there.

I can only write my review based on their gelato. I tried other gelaterias in the same neighborhood and Bar Castello has them beat by taste, intensity of flavor, & variety! The canella flavor (cinnamon) was the best gelato I've ever tasted, period. Even came back several times on my trip once I found this gem.

Bar Castello is also very close to the Sforza Castle & the Parc Sempione so if you are site-seeing or just looking to relax in the park, grab some gelato here & enjoy your day in Milan!

Disgusting does not describe the food, service, the bathrooms. If you have to, there is nothing else to eat then eat the pizza margarita

We walked into here because the prices "seemed" lower than the rest of the restaurants. The waiter was rude and wasn't paying any attention to me while us was ordering, and clearly disliked tourists.. We ordered calzones and pasta, my husband was picking the meat out of his calzone it was so gross and the pasta was box pasta and canned sauce IN ITALY! Then we got our check, 65 euros, that's more than I paid for amazing gourmet meals in other restaurants. Why so expensive? Well he brought us 4 cokes and the price was 20euros! Biggest mistake was ordering drinks! Yikes! Avoid at all costs.. They switched waiters but when it came time to pay and tip our original waiter "magically" appeared to collect and when he didn't get a tip for his bad service he was snarky and made it apparent he wanted us to get out.. This is the first bad review I have ever given any restaurant I'm usually very tolerant and always tip even with sub par service that just shows how bad this was! Avoid at all costs! Plenty of other nearby restaurants are out begging for your service and will treat you well..
