Came here to get my hair done before a wedding (asked for soft curls) but wasn't too happy with the end results. The curls also didn't hold up for the evening (even with me asking them to apply some extra hairspray) which was a bummer.
Appreciated that they were on time for the appointment though!
Cost was $35 for the dry styling/curls (without wash) before tips.
Private lot/free mall parking.
Would recommend going to the Drybar location in Back Bay instead (nicer staff and better styling).Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Shari S.San Francisco, États-Unis011 avr. 2024

After seeing some of the reviews it made me question keeping or canceling my appointment. I have to say the last time I went to Drybar in Boston they didn't do a good job. But I came in this morning for a dry style braid and they did not disappoint! So much better experience! Braid looks good and tight and will stay together with the heat today for my baby shower! Thank you so much! I will be back to this location for my next blow out/ dry style!

This morning I went to Drybar to have my hair done for a wedding this evening. I showed a picture of my hair from a previous wedding and there seemed to be no hesitation in making it similar to the inspiration picture. I booked with (clip in) extensions, so the receptionist and manager knew I had them with me. Basically as soon as I sat down I knew my stylist did not know how to work with them and they even went back to speak with someone about how to install them properly. At that moment the manager should have known they needed to send another hair stylist to me.
I have pretty fine hair and the heat coming off of the dryer was burning my scalp. Not to mention the pulling, which I am sure resulted in breakage. My hair kept getting stuck in the brush and at one point I was actually nervous it was very tangled. After the blow dry was complete they started to put the extensions in, which seemed to be going ok but I could tell they were nervous. Then it came time to actually curl my hair. The stylist opted for a flat iron. With extensions in this resulted in extreme pulling and my extensions starting to slip. There was no effort made for blending and I even needed to request that they use hairspray to keep the hold until the wedding. As soon as I got into my car I noticed my extension tracks are pretty much visible is I move at all and my natural hair was basically uncurled as soon as I got into my car while the extensions were still very curly at the end.
I am not a confrontational person. My mom is a hairdresser in another sate, so I know it is difficult when clients are not happy. I rarely, if ever, complain about services because I know it is hard work. As soon as I got into my car and started to get a better look at my hair I was devastated. I paid close to $100 for something I will have to basically completely do over myself. My stylist was so sweet I did not want to make them feel bad. I am fulling putting the blame on the managers as they knew I had extensions and they should know their stylists abilities, especially when the stylist expresses their concern about properly completing services for me in the first place. I felt it was necessary for me to write a review to warn others who might be going in with taped, sewn or clip in extensions that Drybar will most likely not be serviced properly. If you are going to up charge for a service, your stylists should know how to properly complete that service. I am extremely disappointed, especially with the high cost attached.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Shannon B.Providence, États-Unis39739623 janv. 2022
Yuck...what a terrible experience.
I totally understand the need for cancellation policies. With that being said, I called in a panic on Friday afternoon. I was driving to the ER for my sister who had gotten into a terrible car accident.
I thankfully remembered during my 30 minute drive that I had a hair appointment! I called as a courtesy to let them know I wouldn't be able to make it.
The woman says "That will be a $50 cancellation fee". I explained the situation. I was driving to the emergency room! Please let me at least reschedule. I'm happy to prove that this is why I need to cancel within a few hours notice.
No luck. No apologies. No "I'm sorry, I hope everything is ok".
I'll never support this company again. If someone has COVID do they have to pay a cancellation fee? If so, I wouldn't be surprised if folks went in with sickness and spread it to their hair stylists.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sandy C.Brewster, États-Unis118 avr. 2023
I saw Rosilene for my birthday and showed her an inspo pic and she did it perfectly she was super considerate and cared a lot about my curls holding and made sure I knew what to do with my hair once I left. She was so sweet and I can't recommend seeing her enough. I don't trust many doing my hair but it was the best it's ever looked. Best blowout ever!!

So my first time at this location, and I will say I am coming back!!! London did a fabulous job on my hair!! It's almost as if I did it myself(and I'm very particular about how I do it) she's just amazing and kind-- and definitely made my experience at Dry Bar so exciting! The receptionist was also fantastic and very kind, and helped me very quickly! I wish I caught her name.
Thank you for the great experience ladies! See you soon!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Anna B.Londres, Royaume-Uni037 oct. 2023
I would give less than one star if I had a choice. Scheduled two appointments on afternoon for next morning. Told them it's first time, need longer appointments and Asked all the right questions to make sure if I m little late I have long appointment enough not to get turned around. Sure enough things beyond my control happened( kids miss school bus and traffic after)Courtesy Calling them that I m on my way and need this appointment for an occasion with worlds best wedding photographer and reserved castle that took me $$$$$ and effort to coordinate (not refundable), but I was cancelled BY THEM and charged for two appointments cancellation fees. I had to emergently find another place. Begging them to take us anytime because my occasion is very important didn't do anything but created hostility and was below my dignity to get rude answers while you beg. Supporting only Small towns small business hair salons from now on that value their customers. Forget the chain (((

Don't waste your time. This business purposely overbooks with zero consideration for customers time or comfort. After 30 minutes standing past my scheduled time, I walked out. Terrible customer service.

The dry bar location in Chestnut Hill is so dirty and dusty it makes me wonder if it's actually a good idea for me to get my hair done there. There's no other places close to me like this, so I have continued getting blowouts recently. I wonder... If I am able to see all this dirt and dust everywhere what dirt and dust can't I see? While getting hair washed and looking up at the ceiling, the chandelier and the ceiling and the moldings are all caked with dust blowing in the breeze of the air conditioning and heating vent. The same is true in the front of the store hanging from the chandelier with the hairdryers. And the front desk person was gabbing about how annoyed she was that her Uber driver for Uber eats was hanging out in one spot and not bringing her her chocolate covered French toast. It's silly and unprofessional and she was disrupting the person doing my hair, trying to show her dresses for her upcoming trip. It is expensive to get hair blown out and you want to feel like the person and place are supportive, paying attention to your service and it is a safe and clean environment to be in and it is hard to feel that way when I've come to dry bar chestnut Hill, the last few times.
