Just had some great dishes from El Fénix. The "El Jefe" plate was great as it allowed me to have 4 enchiladas that were all prepared differently. I ordered the Brisket Burrito which was even better than the enchiladas. Great portions for cheap!
I unfortunately did not dine inside and had it delivered so I can only comment on the foods presentation, taste, and value.
Food looked exactly like it did in the pictures online and tasted even better. The food arrived quickly and was still hot. I'd definitely order from here again and would like to eat at the establishment to get a feel of the restaurants vibe.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 11 mars 2024
If you live in DFW, I get that it can be easy to take El Fenix for granted. It's your basic tex-mex, been around forever, there are lots of options out there.
But if you live east of the Mississippi or north of Dallas, as Lyle Lovett would say, there are still lots of places that are Mexican in name, but pale to even the most basic tex-mex in the heart of Texas.
As Texans relocated to Tennessee, good tex-mex is gonna be one of the things to miss most about Texas, and while El Fenix doesn't rise to the bar of my beloved Maudie's in Austin, It's really pretty dang good.
The salsa and chips are excellent, I need lots more than those tiny bowls of salsa initially provided.
Puffy tacos are very crispy, and make a perfect tex-mex salad course.
Cheese enchiladas covered in chile con carne, with rice and refried beans, yes please.
This original #1 location has the classic vibes; it's a pleasant hacienda for drinks and dinner.
Service is fast and efficient, the place runs like the well oiled (greased?) machine it is.
Y'all locals are welcome to be more picky, but it's 5 stars for me.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 10 févr. 2024
While visiting the Arts district we decided to eat lunch at El Felix. I had the flautas. My husband had the chicken quesadillas. My daughter had the El Fenix cheeseburger. It was all very delicious.
Colorful murals, tiles and cast iron chandeliers with sweeping music in the background give the experience a courtyard feel of ambiance. Very popular historic downtown Dallas landmark. We enjoyed it!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 24 mars 20246 check-ins
3-24-2024 Had dinner here before a Mavericks game. Convenient location It's a short walk from the Dart Victory station, close to AAC and Perot museum. Plan your arrival time accordingly as they can get busy. The dining area is huge, and there is a bar off to the side. Our Server was friendly and attentive. He checked in on us often while we got settled and viewed the menu. The pan seared fish tacos were very good, ordered the sauce on the side with black beans and rice. I would definitely order those again, Three tacos in the order is a good portion size and didn't feel too heavy. The food is served quickly which is a plus when you have tickets for a show or game.

I ordered take out steak fajitas and they forgot my tortillas, the steak was so chewy I couldn't swallow a number of the pieces and the queso that was supposed to have meat, sour cream, and guacamole had none in it. I'd suggest going in person and avoiding the fajitas at this restaurant!

Used to come here for lunch fairly often. Service is always friendly, and the place always looks so festive (probably because of the decor). Food is not bad considering the price.
Come here on Wednesday and get their enchiladas special! Sometimes they have free sopapillas and mariachi playing for the guests. It's the perfect spot to have lunch or dinner after you visit the nearby museum!
PS. They have their own parking lot, and it's free parking for their customers.Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - 2 avr. 2023Avis mis à jour
After a long day of enjoying a beautiful day in Dallas I came here with some friends. We were seated quickly however I forgot to ask about getting my parking validated - they will validate your parking for 2 hours so you don't have to pay for parking - however do it before you get seated!
The restaurant was clean and the waiter was on top of things. He apparently missed when I asked to have my beer "fully dressed" but was kind enough to bring me limes to put in my beer.
So I usually wouldn't get a salad but this Saldana was not only good BUT I'd order it again! I got the beans on the side and I had enough that I was able to take 1/2 of it home.
The chips and salsa were delicious, the queso was good and the guacamole was fresh. I just wish I had remembered to tell them no pico but with a chip I was able to scoop it out.
Overall a great meal and great experience.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Information sur le responsable du commerce

Hi Elisa -
Thanks so much for the five stars! We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your visit with us for our 99th celebration! It was an absolute pleasure to have you join us and we love to hear that you're a fan. Hope to see you again soon and be sure to check us out on Facebook as well.15 sept. 2017Avis précédentWe have come here many times (the lemon ice box pie is my absolute favorite!) however we heard that they were celebrating their anniversary with .99 cheese enchilada plates . . . So we made our way down there. I had anticipated this huge line and kept asking my other half if we really wanted to stand in line as we could go elsewhere however he suggested we atleast go see . . . And I couldn't be happier that he did!
We got to the restaurant and there were lots of people however they had this down like a well oiled machine! We waited maybe 5 minutes before being taken to a table in the very back which was far less noisy than the front. We took a seat and chips and salsa made it to the table quickly. A waiter came and took our drink orders and when it seemed like he was taking too long and manager came over to assist.
I asked the waiter if I could get the special without onions and he said it wouldn't be a problem and as quickly as we ordered our food was out!!!
Everything on this visit was beyond great. The service was great, the food was great and you can't beat 2 meals - beans, rice, and 2 enchiladas for less than $2!
