Uncle Menny's Original Greek's Pizzeria

The pizza was very good. The ingredients tasted very fresh and they give you plenty of cheese unlike some places. Love the old school atmosphere. Feels very welcoming and homey. I'm pretty sure the owner makes all the pizzas himself. Avoid the overpriced and over rated new hipster joints and give this place your business instead.

There are so many pizza places to try in Valparaiso. I had seen Greek Pizzaria downtown several times and my landlord recommended it, so I gave it a try. They only do curbside and delivery at the moment due to COVID. It took 45 minutes for my pizza to be prepared and I wish I knew why. But besides the long wait, the quality of the pizza was delicious.

I ordered I think The Classic which came with pepperoni, ground sausage, peppers, and onions. I asked for extra saucw like loaded and well, I would hate to know how little sauce would be on the pizza if I hadn't said extra.

A lot of the Yelp reviews recommended Garlic Knots. I went with Grecian Knots that were covered in olive oil, butter, garlic, and feta cheese. They were satisfactory with some ranch.

I would eat another pizza again from here but I need more sauce when I request it and something to be done about the wait. I still waited 10 minutes in my truck after 45 minutes.

Garlic knots y'all. All the buttery, garlicky, parm cheesy joy that comes with these doughy knots. Mwuah! Still as good as i remember them many many many moons ago. Ordered the house special pizza, which is a solid flavorful pizza. Maybe a tad on the sweeter side but the Italian sausage balances it out. Just a local gem this place!

They're only open in the evenings. Free street parking available. They only accept MasterCard and Visa (oh yea, cash too). Back dining area can accommodate large parties.

Our first experience with Uncle Menny's was two pizza's to go. I got the Carol's Choice, my wife the Napoli. Both pizzas had top notch ingredients, were cooked perfect and tasted terrific! Can't wait to try something else on the menu & dine in. We definitely recommend Uncle Menny's!

We had an Italian beef and a ham and cheese sandwich. Both were good and reasonably priced. It would have been nice if they would have come with a side (fries, chips, etc.). The place is small, but with a cozy setting. Friendly staff who allowed us to take our time as we checked out the menu. They are known for their pizza. We didn't try any, but I can say as we ate our dinner, several people came in for pizza pick up. So it must be a popular choice.

Used to be my favorite pizza, over the last year it's gotten steadily worse. Undercooked, falls apart, and super greasy

Happy to say he's not my uncle! Seriously I was sucked in with the homespun name..Sadly it's just a Pizza Hut/ Dominos style pizza...Is the pizza awful? Absolutely not..
This is pizza for kids around 7 or college students wanting a cheap dinner. What a disappointment...Sorry Menny's .. just not my idea of pizza... The 2 star rating is rather generous... I'm not trying to sound obnoxious only truthful.

Ok the good and the bad.

The good first? No F'ing way! I am going to give the bad first. Here it is!

This place does not have Indiana pizza. Yes you heard me, it has no Indiana pizza, it has true Italian slash Chicago rocking pizza or it has true Sicilian pizza or it has true New York pizza ..... etc.

The good, (see above.)

The owner Alex is super awesome and is a third generation owner of this establishment. He is taking great food into the modern age with on line orders and new innovations without touching the tried and true staples of the place.

Food: the best garlic knots I have ever had. I am partial to the everything knots. The pizzas are sublime, while the sauce is spot on, my desire is to see a spicier and zestier sauce option when the mood strikes me. The ingredients are all super fresh and there is a good variety. If they are not enough they do a monthly special which is worth trying.

My only wish on food would be that I would like to see two more salad options, a Caesar salad and a chopped salad with a bunch of veggies.

Uncle Menny's pizza is not my type of pizza. It's New York style with triangle cut slices but falls short in my opinion.
The set up is nice and very family oriented style and has a good wait staff and has these great bread knots that were very good.

The pizza though is again not very good in my opinion it's up there with little Caesars or frozen pizza. There was not enough Marinara sauce, the sauce that was on there was bland in flavor, the Italian sausage was crumbled, the pepperoni reminded me of the packages you can buy from the grocery store. The dough was ok but again not the best I had.
I had read great reviews of this place so we decided to try it tonight.
My kids like it and my GF liked it but I didn't and maybe I'm bias because I'm from Chicago and I'm use to good pizza but I've given great reviews for places that I felt were outstanding and I've given some bad reviews that I felt were deserving.
My overall opinion of this place for pizza is a no go. I'll go back and try other items but for now it's only a 3 out of 5 stars for me.
