First of all: Hi beach is now WIP ( beach work in progress)
It changed owners and name and the brother Costes renowned for their luxurious hotel and cafe in Paris took over the Hi hotel and the adjacent beach
Stay tuned for another name change in 2019
For now I did not enjoy my lunch at his beach.
They had the electro music blaring through multiple loudspeakers and the food was average and quite expensive:
The ravioli with truffled oil were extremely creamy and heavy.
The chicken was average , the burger came with a mayo based sauce.
The branzino was ok , cooked well but expensive at $30 ( we are at the beach after all); I would have liked a starch like rice or potatoes to make it a more complete meal
The fish soup came with the usual accouterments ( toasted bread , aioli and cheese) but lacked depth
I was told that the steak tartare was good
The sorbets were too sweet
In all a hefty bill for average food and a headache because of the music
2.5 stars( for branzino and steak tartare)Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Anette L.Helsinki, Finlande8057 août 2016
Points for the music, almost the only club on the strip with any music.
Service was horrible; very poorly organised and unprofessional. Waiter could not remember any orders and it took way too long to get the food ready (2.5h for a club sandwich) and meals were brought at different times for all of us. Also the milk for the coffee was brought 30min after the coffee. They should have more staff for the beach.
Beach chairs are also super uncomfortable.
Prefer Castel beach, similar concept with better quality and less expensive.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - J D.El Segundo, États-Unis4560367 juil. 2015
The place was great. It has a full bar, showers, changing rooms, and food. The service though leaves much to be desired. They weren't pushy; I will give them that at least. Grant it, I don't know French but still. You could come around every 30min to an hour to ask if we would like something. I had to go up to the bar bc we wanted to order. The waiter then charged me there and told me he would bring the drinks to us.
Please remember the beach here is not sand it is full of pebbles of all sizes. Ouch! Bring some waterproof sandals that will stay on your feet while you go into the ocean.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - John C.San Jose, États-Unis26771243 sept. 2016
Where did the sand go?? There are pebbles everywhere! Since Nice doesn't have nice sandy beaches, it's a must to go to one of these places to lay out and have a few cocktails. Their cocktails a bit on the lighter side so I just ordered long island ice teas all day to get the nice buzz. What's also nice is that they bring you olives and chips to munch on while you're drinking; but you may need to ask nicely for them as I noticed that some of those who were laying out on the beach didn't get it. The staff is super nice since they're able to bring you food and drinks pretty quickly considering the amount of people who were there. I actually took a nice dip into the ocean and I got stung by a jellyfish. It was no big deal - I just had my lady pee on me. Just kidding - the staff was able to get me some vinegar and I was fine afterwards. I went here twice on two separate days and they had a pretty good DJ fire it up with some EDM towards the later part of the evening so it was nice to have some good EDM while getting a nice buzz going.

A very Rivieria-like experience! We rented chairs here for the day and it was an amazing day out. Fun to just lay around, soak up the sun (or shade in my case) and have some rose brought your way. We took a lunch break for some salads, talked to a couple other international tourists who were here for the day. But, I must say for all the hype I had hoped the glam factor would be a bit higher. The severs were hard to pin down and the facilities weren't that nice. This is supposed to be one of the better private beaches so I guess I hoped for more and was trying to do the best one!

Did I step into a music video? Crystal blue waters and beautiful people everywhere? Hi Beach was a glorious place to spend two days in Nice. At first thought 17 euros to rent a deck chair was pricey, but you get attentive service, a private area of the beach and a true sense that this is your turf. Oh, and the truffle pizza is incredible - a must have.

Hi beach is new and very trendy. The materials and decor is superb and really invites visitors to stay there all day.
We went for an evening meal when it had just opened (July 2008) so the menu had not been quite sorted out and there was a very limited number of dishes to choose from.
The food when compared to the reputation of the chef and the prices did not live up to my expectations. I had squid, which I had had numerous times on the same holiday and this was no better just a lot more expensive. The same could be said about some of my friends dishes. Is was not that there was anything wrong with the food I had just expected it to be a lot more exciting and it should be at that price. The sushi, however, was absolutely delicious and probably the thing to go for if you want to eat at the Hi beach. The cocktails were good, but the service slightly shaky (might again have something to do with the recent opening).
The Hi beach is definitely a place to go for a meal on the beach, as there is not really any proper alternatives and I'm sure and hope they'll improve when they get a bit more into the swing of it.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Arlet M.Glendale, États-Unis035226 juil. 2016

Slightly overpriced but then again im sure all the private beaches are. Waiter service could have been a bit better but still the day was enjoyable at the beach.
