Le Shannon Pub

The ideal nostalgic dive bar in the neighborhood. We didn't get food while we were there, but the drinks are reasonably priced and strong. The service was friendly and helpful and the dance floor was bumping. Even on a week night, the later you stayed at the bar, the more packed it got. The Avengers pinball machine was an enjoyable touch as well.

This place is unpolished, hardly taking itself seriously. The atmosphere is that of a friendly drinking den, with a bit of flourish in the rear lounge thanks to laser lights and comfy chairs. Smokers congregate out front, while a motley crew of locals sit at the bar - we even spotted a Kenny G lookalike. And yes, that's AC/DC playing.

Superb bar staff serve patrons their favorite poison. Knock back a Kronenbourg, and try a pint of their decent house brew, creatively called the Shannon Pub (4.50 Euros/glass). Like shots? Go for their rum shot special (3 Euro/shot).

Before we left, the owner gave us a lovely parting gift: minty menthol shots. Who needs dinner mints?

If I could do 0 I would. Restrooms are full of sewer flies. Musty nasty smell throughout the bar. Didn't even co wider staying for a drink. Disgusting!

Best bar I have ever been too! Diego and Leo were so amazing!!! Already left Paris and missing this place!!!

Service is great, and the American rock music is awesome. Our bartender Thomas took care of us very well and spoke perfect English making the experience great. Beers are a little pricy but worth it. If you are looking for a fun bar to hang out at Le Shannon is the place to be.

I would not recommend this bar to anyone who is not French visiting Paris. I had a negative experience with a male customer in the bar and when I tried to tell the security staff about this, they yelled at me and disallowed me from re entering the bar without explanation. The person who appeared to be the head bouncer was particularly aggressive and even made a curse gesture to me. When I asked an English speaking French man outside who appeared to be friends with the security staff (and was inside the bar earlier that night) if I could see the manager, he said this would not concern the manager. They would not allow me in to get my friend and jacket and not even the English speaking man could tell me why I was not allowed back in. Finally, ironically I am Irish and this is an supposedly an Irish bar. I say supposedly because with the exception of the name there is nothing Irish about it - they don't stock Irish drinks, the interior is not decorated with any Irish memorabilia and there are no Irish staff (or at least there were no Irish staff the night I was there).
