My very first English pub. After arriving in London and losing 5 hours it was time for lunch.
Our daughter in law took us here for a bite on the way to pick up the grandkids.
The place looked like what I expected a London pub to be like.
It's located in the borough of Richmond and near a quaint English village.
The food was okay.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Emilie O.Londres, Royaume-Uni31229 déc. 2019
This has been my local pub for most of my life, and over the years has maintained its cosy, neighbourhood atmosphere. The inside dining area is great, especially in the wintertime with the fire going, and the outdoor areas in both the garden and around the fire pit are perfect for evenings and sunny days! While sometimes on the pricier side, the food continuously delivers. Both the traditional English pub food (Sunday roasts, bangers and mash etc) and the lighter fare are delicious, and the selection of wine is pretty good for a pub. The service is also excellent, with friendly and knowledgable waiters. You also often see the owner wandering around checking in on guests which is a welcoming feeling.
The Red Lion has done a great job at making this the ideal local pub, combining a homely nature with a sophisticated touch!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Teresa C.Londres, Royaume-Uni3152926 avr. 2015
A deceptively spacious pub with a large garden in the back, as well as a non-smoking decking for diners. A great place for drinks in small or large groups..however I don't recommend the food.
The menu and the food itself looks great, but it was all so bland. For the prices you're paying, I really do expect better. I went for Chicken & Leek pie with mash and gravy (around £10), and my boyfriend went for the fish and chips (just under £12). We were both disappointed..everything lacked seasoning.
I would go back here for drinks though, as it really is a lovely pub, and the staff are very friendly!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Craig M.Toronto, Canada1516368020 févr. 2012
Very solid gastropub in Barnes, with the clientele and prices to match. The food ranges from good to excellent here, depending on your choice. I'd recommend the pies in the winter.
Big old terrace and garden for the summer - not too far from the river either. An ideal spot to quench your thirst after a walk along the Thames or the Wetlands.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Helen E.Londres, Royaume-Uni13115809 nov. 2011
A very nice grown-up pub. Huge traditionally decorated, quite grand feeling interior (dark, heavy curtains, leather sofas, big glass vase of lilies, gold framed mirrors). Large pub garden with smart outdoor furniture. Dogs allowed outside and there were some families with small children.
Excellent service both times I've visited. On one occasion the barman was extremely knowledgeable, charming and helpful when we were choosing wine.
An extensive menu of classy pub classics. I've only eaten here once, but my halloumi salad was really good - lots of thoughtful components giving depth of flavour and interesting textures. My dining companions were all happy too. The roast dinners looked wonderful.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Membre Qype (jaccd…)Dublin, Irlande871212 août 2010
Another lovely barnes pub. The food is nice, if not a little over priced. A burger and chips is roughly £9.50, which i suppose for a pub in london (with the exception of whetherspoons) isnt a bad price. Beer is on the expensive side for somewhere out side of central london, with a pint of Guiness currently standing at £3.95 (Aug 2010)
But it is a nice pub, lots of outdoor space, patio heaters for the winter, nice staff and very few complaints!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Membre Qype (garyan…)Londres, Royaume-Uni286014 avr. 2011
A rather lovely Barnes pub with a very nice beer garden at the back. A good selection of beers on tap, plus a BBQ bar in the garden.
The food looked amazing as well. At one point I exclaimed "Cor, look at that." My friend assumed I was referring to an attractive lady. I was actually getting excited about the delicious-looking fish and chips the barman was carrying past our table. Well worth a walk out in Barnes direction.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ian M.Twickenham, Royaume-Uni373 mai 2010Prem's
Great little pub in Barnes. Our food was good, and everyone else's looked good too. Lots of room and a massive outdoor area too.
Food is cut above ordinary pub, but not quite gastro pub. Well executed.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Marky M.Londres, Royaume-Uni21119 avr. 2012
Nice pub, except when the rugby or football is on. Nice staff and atmosphere generally. A good spot after a days filming.

This would be a great summer beer garden venue. The pub itself was clean and the service was good. The meals came out reasonably quick but weren't mega raveable. My boyfriend and I both had the bacon and swiss cheese burger with handcut chips which sounded grand but was average in my opinion.
