Finding good BBQ in Paris is one of my quests. The Beast is a a good BBQ place to eat with great drinks, including craft beers and very rare bourbons. Prices range from 9-24 Euros ($11-27 US) for the meats, 4-5 Euros ($5-6 US) for the sides, and a lunch menu of 15 Euros ($17) for a meat, side and drink, it's a good deal for the best BBQ I've had in Paris. The first time I went, I had the pork ribs with a side of greens, and a beer. the pork ribs were tender in the center, but dry on the end, needing the delicious tomato based BBQ sauce to moisten the meat.
The beef brisket was excellent, with a wonderful peppercorn crust, nice smoke, and juicy meat, good enough to eat without any sauce at all. The greens weren't bad, with plenty of pork goodness, but they needed salt and heat to make them better, unfortunately Parisian taste is not known for having any tolerance for spice, so sneak in some hot sauce if you want to perk up this side, or take it home and doctor it up. The pickles and pickled onions were excellent, with a crisp texture and vinegary bite. The baked beans were the best side I tasted, with a smokey tomato base, just slightly sweet. The decor reminds you that the owner spent some time in Texas, but fortunately there were no chainsaws in sight :)Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Justin Y.Salinas, États-Unis07716 avr. 2019
Wow! I'm glad I came here. I've never been to Texas but I've always wanted Texas BBQ, never imagined I'd be eating it in Paris lol. First off Tom our server was awesome at explaining the history of the restaurant and the variety of the menus and drinks. The brisket is so tender and different from the brisket in California and so was the pulled pork and chicken. The sides of pickles and onions we're so flavorful that they changed the course of the dry meats into something magical. Our server then gave us a free plate of sausages and baby ribbs to sample and I must admit that the ribs we're the best I ever ate! I wish I would have ordered them first. I highly recommend someone from the states to come eat at The Beast to get their BBQ fix

Obviously, this review will be a bit biased as I am from America, and I'm not really well versed on how ubiquitous barbecue is in Paris. It's about comparable to the stuff I get at home, but I also don't live in a big barbecue city - it doesn't stack up to Texas, nor does stuff from Chicago.
The staff here is nice and accommodating, as is the American chef serving up meat. The process is a bit different than usual. You go up to the chef, ask for what you want, move over a window, pick up your food, then sit. When you're done, you pay at the bar. I liked the mac and cheese made with an English cheddar, but was disappointed at the small serving of brisket I got, especially for the price.
Overall, it's an accurate representation of American barbecue, but not a destination spot for anyone from America. Definitely give it a try if you've never had it before though.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Juan U.Paris11391624 mai 2015
The food is delicious, the place is great and the staff is super friendly. I highly recommend The Beast for anyone looking for some delicious smoked meats in Paris. They really do go all out with the whole American feeling, from the presentation to the ornamentation.
Keep in mind they take reservations for groups of 6 or more, so if your group is smaller then I highly recommend you get there some time before 19h30 or you will not find a table.
The price / food quality ratio is spot on. Portions are normal Parisian size, so some people may think them small but for our group it was perfect, as it also left room for their delicious buttermilk biscuits. A couple of people even left with a food baby feeling, so I'd say that's a big plus for The Beast.
Loved it. Would definitely come back. Can't recommend enough.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Adriana B.Spring Branch, Houston, États-Unis821514 avr. 2019
Best brisket I've had outside Texas. The meat was sooo tender and perfectly seasoned. The biscuits perfectly flaky. You can tell there was passion behind the making. The staff was welcoming and attentive. They made us feel like we're old friends. Love it!

I found this place randomly one night when I was traveling alone and my previously searched place was closed. Armed with only a saved google map, I saw the name and decided it was interesting enough to make the journey.
So glad I did! The brisket was incredible. The sauce was amazing and sweet potato perfectly cooked. There was some pickled onion and cucumber on the side, as well as some bread.
Additionally, the staff were very nice and helpful! The place is quite small and was very crowded though, which made for some awkward moments bumping thighs with strangers.
Would recommend!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Maya G.Oakland, États-Unis311135 déc. 2016
Really amazing beef brisket, and the other meat options we had were also great. Felt like US in there. Extremely flavorful BBQ sauce for Paris, which tends to have bland food. Decently priced and good sized portions. Wait was very long on a Saturday night for two without a reservation.
Not as good of a beer menu as I would expect. My only real complaint was that the sides were not good. The mac and cheese is just noodles with melted cheese sauce on top, and baked beans are just kidney beans with BBQ sauce, but the meats were so good, we didn't really care. Also be sure to pack your own take away container if you need to take left overs because they threw out most of our food when we asked for a takeaway box.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Joel H.Cabot, États-Unis4010107 janv. 2018
I smoke meats myself, and this brisket was easily one of the better briskets I have eaten. They use oak to smoke all their meats. They serve BBQ sauce, but the meat does not need any sauce. The mac and cheese was very good, but such a large amount, I couldn't finish it. The mashed potatoes were also very good. They tasted just like the ones I make at home. I talked to the staff and described how I make mine, and they confirmed this is how they make theirs also. My wife had the pulled pork. I ended up eating most of hers because it was a lot of food. All of it was so satisfying.

This place is hands down, one of my favorite places in all of Paris. ESPECIALLY if you are from America and are craving some yummy BBQ! The people here are soooooo nice and the food is 10/10! Definitely get the brisket and the mac and cheese! 100% the best mac and cheese I've ever had! Can't wait to go back to Paris just to eat here again!
