The pizza was great and the staff were just as good. We carried out but we'll definitely go back to eat in.

This place is the bees knees.
Quick service, great staff and most of all... the pizza is the best in Cincinnati (PERIOD).
The G-Ma slice could save lives.
The white slice is perfect on a sunny day.
And if you want your socks knocked off by an OG slice of cheese, have at it.

So, so very good.
As I always try to put a disclaimer on my pizza reviews: Being from Chicago, I'm open about being a bit of a pizza snob. Chicago pizza is what I was born and raised on but I appreciate good pizza anywhere. Within my world travels, I've had some great pizza and it's not always from Chicago. Unfortunately, Cincinnati has little to offer in terms of good pizza.
But then I came across Trophy Pizza. Truly a diamond in the rough. A needle in a Queen City sized haystack. A giant among.......alright, that's enough. Trophy's got the goods!
Frequently visiting New York, one of my "go-to" stops is to always make my way to a pizza place and get a Grandma Slice of pizza. And since I'm being honest, it's never just one slice.
If you're not familiar with the Grandma Slice, or Grandma Pizza, it's simple by design. Light airy dough, sauce, mozzarella cheese and garlic. Lots of garlic. Of course you have some seasoning mixed in there but that's the basic framework for it. Not being able to find it in Cincinnati, I've dialed in the recipe to be able to make it at home and it's not as simple as the ingredients make it seem. So I respect anyone that can make it good.
Trophy has got it down, by about 98%, simply based on the numerous versions that I've ingested. They've got everything right but I do have one minor observation. It has to do with the crust. Yes, their crust hits the light and airy aspect of it. The one thing it's lacking is the buttery, almost caramelized, crust. When you bake a Grandma Pizza you're almost frying it. The art of the Grandma crust is you're almost frying it in a square pan, with raised sides, with tons of olive oil. The dough is literally swimming in it. It almost seems too much, but like I said, it's almost like you're frying it. Trophy was missing that one aspect of it as I found their crust to be light, airy yet a little on the dry side. But that isn't stopping me from getting it again, and again, and yet again. It is truly fantastic. The closest I can get to a Grandma Pizza here in Cincy and they use delicious ingredients throughout.
I also tried a slice of the Margherita Pizza. Outstanding. Now, me personally, I can never have enough basil on just about anything. There is something about that sweet tasting aromatic little leaf that sets me of. Love it. But again, Trophy absolutely destroys your mouth with flavor by doing it right. Premium ingredients and so very obvious that this group really has a passion for bringing killer pies to Cincinnati.
Would I go back? Trophy Pizza is 35+ minutes from me, depending on traffic. In a heartbeat, with very little thought and zero hesitation - yes, I go back as often as possible. If you're born and raised here in Cincy, Trophy is a great introduction to what is out there. What pizza CAN be! So instead of visiting that buddy you're known all your life, or getting papa to bring one to the house, venture out to a REAL New York pizza place and get the goods. From dining in, I can tell that the locals in their area know what's up and that secret needs to get out. Go get it!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Bruce Y.Cincinnati, États-Unis251062611 janv. 2024
I haven't had pizza in NYC, so I'm unable to comment on Trophy Pizza's authenticity, but I know what I like, so I'll comment on that. First, they have excellent pepperoni, and don't skimp on it. Second, the crust is wonderfully crunchy and chewy, well browned and a little blistered. Third, the sauce is simple and tomatoey, so it doesn't compete with the rest of the pizza. I would prefer more cheese, but their pizza is nicely balanced as it is, so that's just a comment, not at all a complaint. I'm showing the greasy plate as a testimony to the excellence of the pepperoni. The pizza isn't greasy - just well flavored. They have a nice lunch special of a slice, green salad (house made dressing) and refillable fountain soda, or two slices and a soda, for $10.25. I didn't realize that when I ordered, so I lucked out. It makes a good, filling lunch.
If you go during the lunch rush, be prepared to wait, but they work as fast as they can. By 12:30, there was no line.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - 6 mai 2024
This was a quick easy lunch! And what better way to try a pizza place than when they have it by "the slice ". It was sooo good. The garlic knots for the win! Service was great , and it was in and out. Plenty of parking , and nestled in evendale. For sure lived up to the hype. No drivers were harmed on this lunch break!

Tried it for the first time for lunch - 2 slices & a fountain drink for $11-ish. Went with the sausage & pepperoni & the loophole. Both were very good, crispy crust. Definitely on the rotation.
I'd hit it...again.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 11 nov. 2023
The pizza place Cincinnati needed. These guys at Trophy Pizza are slinging out true NY style pizza right here in Ohio. You'll find that thin crust in a variety of flavors, with slices (perfect for a quick lunch) and giant pies available. They also make "grandma-style" with a thicker crust for those with that preference. All are delicious. And they have a true NY style cheesecake as well that you definitely should try.
They work quickly to serve their busy crowds. I recommend ordering ahead of time online to save them some trouble and yourself some time. If you can though, grab a booth and watch them dishing out pizzas from their oven because it's fun to watch while dining in.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 23 janv. 2024Avis mis à jour5 check-ins

Hi Mark! Thanks so much for coming in to try us out. We love pizza snobs! :)
As you noticed, we are working hard to get organized and are striving to do better every day as traffic and business exploded. We are truly thankful to have this problem to solve.
We are also incredibly grateful for our amazing crew, who had limited or no experience with pizza a few months ago! They have done an incredible job picking up the craft of making great pizza.
Now it’s up to us as owners and managers to hire and train more great people and to put efficient systems in place to help them succeed, so we can deliver you and all our customers the kind of pizza both you and we love, and do so every time, consistently and efficiently.
We look forward to your return!!30 mars 2023Avis précédentVery new, busy and quite disorganized but this will get better with time. Im an east coaster and a pizza snob. Tried the grandma pie which was 4 star. Flavor was very good. The round "new york" style was fine (3 star). Top was a bit dried out and bottom wasn't cooked enough (oven deck maybe not hot enough or not enough recovery time with oven being used so much. Also person cutting pies was a but rushed and sloppy. I will go back again to try in another month and update my review.

Our group came on the last night of pizza week, so it was understandably busy. We were lucky enough to grab a large table in the back, as most people were doing take out. There is definitely not a ton of seating here so be prepared for that. While it was a long wait for our full pizzas to be ready, we were able to grab a couple pre made slices that they heated up for us, meatballs, and drinks. The staff was so great despite being so busy. The pizza was pretty damn close to what I know being a NYer. The meatballs were also very good. This is worth a try if you love pizza and are open to the NY way or looking for a taste of home!

Very good New York style pizza for the area. Best value food in the gatherfall, probably our favorite restaurant there. Quick service, lots of pre-sliced options. They also have some good mix and match slices and salad deals. The gatherall is always bustling, but we've never had an issue finding seating, there's even heated seating outdoors.
