By far the best burger in San Diego! And believe me, I've tried a lot of burgers. It is so worth the 30+ minute wait. the worst part is having to wait for a seat when it's crowded. If you time it right, you might think you're in heaven. Ok that was a bit dramatic, but is is really really good.
I only gave it 3 stars because I'm ambivalant about the place. The food is great. The service is ok. The wine list is good. The music is good. (But I agree it can be too loud to converse with your friends.) But there isn't anything amazing about the Turquoise. It almost seems like they are trying too hard. I was especialy bummed when they turned me and my friends away because they were only seating people for dinner and not for drinking at the bar. This was on a friday night at 7:30.
Still there is something appealing about the candelight and jazz. I'm in like with the place.
This is my favorite new spot. I've been there a few times now and they've been pretty consistant. The selection of wine is impressive. But it's not a user friendly wine selection. You either have to know what you're looking for or get help from the staff.
the food that I've tried has all been very good. The cheese plate is a bit small, but a very tasty variety. And the pasta with shrimp is fabulous! I crave it all the time.
The service is ok, but not great. Which I can tolerate because of the wine, food and ambiance.
