My August 2011 Wedding
We are so lucky to have Sophie as our wedding planner and day coordinator.
I am an "out-of-town" bride. My husband and I survived the 4-year long distance relationship. And I finally made my mind to quit my job, leave all my friends and move to bay area from Chicago. Sophie is very flexible due to my limited schedule. (since that I can only fly to and stay at bay area one day or two each month before the wedding)
My parents and parents-in-law can only understand limited English. I cannot imagine how I can have a wedding with all vendors speaking Mandarin so easily without Sophie. And I love all my vendors.
The wedding day went flawlessly. And all my bridesmaids told me that they must have someone like Sophie for their weddings in Chicago or NYC.
Thanks, Sophie ;)
It is a belated review. (Really late)
We had our wedding in August, 2011. At that time, we tried to find a bilingual officiant, since that half of my guest cannot speak English. Patrick Wang is a lucky found. He can speak Mandarine and Cantonese, which like saving the world for me.
Patrick is very professional and flexible. We even changed our ceremony DJ to using him. You're right. He is our Officiant and DJ at the same time for the ceremony. It worked seamless :)
And the cost is very reasonable. I would recommend Patrick to any friend who need wedding DJ or Officiant.
Back to our wedding in 2011, we found DJ Quan through our wedding planner. Because we need a wedding DJ/MC who can speak/understand Mandarin. Quan is very helpful with all the questions I had. However, several months before the wedding, his schedule changed. We need to ask DJ Felix for help instead. Quan is very kind and he introduced us to a MC/Singer Sandy, who can speak Mandarin. So the happy ending is that we got a combo - awesome DJ Felix + awesome MC/singer Sandy for the same price we agreed with DJ Quan. I cannot be happier than that :) I would recommend blueEdge Productions to anyone, since that they are very professional and considerable.
Giao did my hair and makeup for my engagement video, and I also booked her for my mother, mother-in-law and me on the wedding day.
Giao is very easy to work with. She listened to all your ideas and understood all your concern (like I don't like lip color, I mean any color, but I do want to look like wearing makeup). I was pleased with my hair and how durable my makeup was ( I cried a lot on my wedding, but nothing got messed up)
Giao is very talented. She made hair pieces herself. I was so lucky to wear one of her handmade hair piece (and it got sold to some luckier bride just after my wedding :) )
I know it is very stressful to find the right wedding makeup artiest, but Giao is the one, you will never regret.
Had my wedding rehearsal dinner here. The place is so hot that we can only have our reserved room for 1.5 hr. However, they brought food to the table pretty fast.
My parents love their Salt & Pepper Crab :) I did not know I could find such a nice restaurant for rehearsal dinner in Chinatown.
I found Trinni through my wedding planner. She worked very hard to meet my budget. I have a center piece idea in mind for long and on the wedding day she made my dream come true.
My guests love the flowers she arranged. And my bouquet smells so great that I still want to keep it even one and half week after the wedding day:) Not to mention, the orchids from the center piece, I took them home and it is 2 weeks from the wedding day, they are still on my dinning table.
Thanks, Trinni, it is so lucky to have you as my wedding florist.
Love the linens and chairs they provided at my wedding, which made my wedding site so lovely and different. Also their dancing floor delivery and setup are efficient. Not knowing about the price level since I did not shop around. I just went there directly with my wedding planner's recommendation.
Szewai is our first dance teacher. She designed a very easy and elegant rumba routine. My fiance and I had limited dancing experience before. Szewai made us feel very comfortable on the dancing floor. I will definitely recommend her to be your wedding dance teacher.
I went to Chicago Dance private lessons myself for practicing my wedding first dance. Since that my fiance lived in a different city, we got to practice separately. The instructor was really helpful.
Minus one star, because I remember at that time, the dance floor is a little bit crowded. We got to use the private room but the room is kind of small.
Satura Cakes made my wedding cake.
My cake idea is a picture from a magazine. Keiko used it and made the exact same cake I want with awesome taste. We also ordered their cream puffs, macaroons and bite size cakes. They were all cute and delicious.
Thanks, Satura Cakes.
My wedding was held here in August 2011. The rooftop wedding is very unique and memorable. All the staff here are very helpful. Especially, the price is very reasonable.
It is a very beautiful hotel. All my guests lived here said they had a wonderful experience. Me and my husband got chance to use the panoramic suite. We love it and even asked our wedding photographer and videographer to shoot the room (and the in room bathtub) in our wedding photo/video :)
We will definitely check back, also we are living in SF.
We went to Dance Boulevard for private lessons for our wedding first dance. The instructor is super talented and our routine came out easy to learn and "fancy" to look :) We are pleased with the money and effort we put into Dance Boulevard.
