The Places I Go Out
You gotta love these guys. What a hook. You have to keep coming back to complete you 99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall card and get on the wall.
But if that was all they had to offer they wouldn't last.
Great pub food, very friendly service and an awesome place to watch football (also referred to as soccer in this country).
Great for groups.
I like this place.
Nicer atmosphere compared to most places downtown.
Fun sushi menu. Great bar. Great service.
Awesome french fries.
Love to come here and have a drink and unwind.
We come here alot. Usually later in the evening since we can always count on them being open. I am a huge fan of breakfast at any kind of day. They have such a huge selection you can find something for everyone.
Kids love to play with the Trivial Pursuit cards on each table.
Service can be spotty but 90% of the time we get pretty good help.
Try the Pho but be hungry you need to eat the whole thing there, no take out allowed for that item.
Other favorites, The Sourdough Supreme Burger is great. Kids love the chicken strips. Monterey Omelette, with Jack Cheese, Mushrooms and Avocado. I could go on and on, you get the idea.
Three words for you:
To Freakin Die For.
Okay that was four words, but you get the idea. I love, love, love this place. Even though it is insanely hard to get into. Although you can call ahead and let them know you are coming, it can cut down on the wait time. It is bad to say that often while we wait we head down the street to The Crepe Place and have a drink?
Everything I have had here has been fabulous. Although I often have the Sunday Gravy on Polenta. The fact that they will let you have almost anything on Polenta makes them a huge hit in my book.
Great for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. Nice wine selections.
Small but cozy atmosphete. The Mattman says it reminds him of small cafes in Italy. If you have time to kill some evening and you like Italian food, you must check them out.
We love love love this place. Their wings are sooo awesome.
Favorires are Lemon Pepper, Hickory Smoked BBQ and Garlic Parmesan. The coworkers beg for a someone to make a run to Wingstop so very often that is was great to find out there was one near me at home. Picked up a huge variety for Greer's BBall team when it was my time for providing dinner. Working with them on the phone a day early and pick up the day of was super easy and I was super popular. The coaches even loved me.
Super excited that they are open late. Now we have a place to stop after evening school activities.
Formerly a second location for local favorite Cole's BBQ, but now under new management.
They have kept the same basic concept, BBQ in place but upped the game anty by adding a marvelous beer selection.
Been a few times, our always voraciously hungry teenage son begs to come here often. From the BBQ Pulled Pork or Tri Tip Sandwiches which most absolutely must order on the Garlic Bread to the Tri Tip Salad I have never been disappointed.
I recommend you stop by hungry, take your time order a great beer and some awesome BBQ and prepare to be messy.
Love Groupon for pushing me to try things on my to do list.
Don't always head to the Westside but I have seen this place a few times and have wanted to try it for awhile now. Not a great location being in a strip mall. Britannia Arms, hands down has the best pub building in the county. But they have done some cool things on the inside to try and give this place a nice vibe.
They have a great beer menu, organized by beer type and origin. Lots of fun new things to try. I had a New Belgium La Folie which is a sour brown ale. Very different from your standard fare so it was fun to try one of the new trends in beer. It was tangy and had a slight hint of sweetness underlying it.
The Mattman had his standard fare of a hard cider. Still waiting for this supposed rennaisance in ciders to hit Santa Cruz.
The menu looks awesome. There was so much I wanted to try, some great looking sandwiches. They have traditional pub fare like bangers and mash and shepherds pie. I will need to try their shepherds pie someday to make sure they are truly legit.
We finally decided to try The Belushi. We were living large and went for it. From the menu description: 'Not approved by the AHA. A stuffed half pound-er with blue cheese, bacon, Aged Irish cheddar, and American cheese. Then we beer batter it, deep fry it, and wish you all the best - '
How can you not try this? We decided to split this upon the wise advice of our server and it was actually pretty tasty and worth writing home about.
Was little bummed that for a pub trying for a British feel they had no idea what my new favorite drink, the Pimms Cup is, but hey something for them to discover perhaps.
Can't wait to come back again and try more fun beers and great food.
