I really wish Yelp would allow a half star because this was 4 1/2 stars in my book.
My friend and I got here around 5:30 on a Thursday and were sat right away. Our waitress took our drink orders quickly. I had the strawberry mojito and it was delicious and a perfect combination of the ingredients (did not skimp on the alcohol).
We ordered the Poutine as an appetizer and I was slightly disappointed. The "pub chips" were think potato wedges which were perfectly cooked. The cheese curds were large and not melted. Not sure if this dish goes under a salamander before served or not. The gravy was the most disappointing part to me. It was very salty and goopy. Not exactly the adjectives you want to describe your gravy.
My entree more than made up for the disappointing appetizer though! I got the Flat Iron Steak entree and it was delicious! I ordered it cooked medium and it came out cooked medium-well but that didn't detract from the flavor. I had the mashed potatoes and grilled zucchini as my side dishes. Both were wonderfully seasoned and cooked well. The highlight of the dish was ultimately the crimini mushroom sauce served with the steak. OMG!! I would probably eat just about anything drenched in that sauce. My friend got the steak sandwich and she seemed to like it. It's literally just a slice of bread with a piece of steak on top. However, if you're in the mood for steak and don't want to pay the entree prices, this is the way to go. Maybe ask for a side the crimini mushroom sauce? That'll save you almost 8 bucks!
We finished our meal splitting the brownie sundae and the bread pudding. The bread pudding was disappointing but the rum glaze served over it was quite good. The brownie sundae was delicious! The brownie wasn't too cakey or gooey, it was the perfect blend of both. It's served in two triangle pieces atop a scoop of vanilla ice cream so it's the perfect dessert to share.
I will definitely be back again and again!
Henry's Pub is a terrific Gastropub! -See official definition here;-) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ga…
Conveniently located in downtown Loveland, Henry's Pub is the first restaurant in town that helped me adjust to my new home city of Loveland, CO. My husband and I are from Michigan, we've traveled a lot for business, and lived for 4 years in the San Diego area. In other words, we are food snobs. Sorry Loveland, but I was starting to lament my food choices until we found Henry's Pub. I truly hope to find some other hidden gems in Loveland, but I think Henry's Pub will always be my favorite because it's the first place that gave me a new sense of "home." I've already brought out-of-town friends and family here several times (they have all loved it). Henry's Pub is my number #1 "go to" place. Some of my favorites that I will order again and again - the P.E.I. Mussels, Steak Sandwich, Fish & Chips (also, the Sunday special with Walleye), and Henry's Flat Iron Steak.
