Yelp (http://www.yelp.fr/) est un site internet qui connecte les internautes avec les meilleurs commerces de leur quartier. Yelp a été créé à San Francisco en juillet 2004. Depuis, des communautés Yelp se sont implantées dans les principales villes des États-Unis, du Canada, du Royaume-Uni, d’Irlande, de France, d'Allemagne, d'Autriche, des Pays-Bas, d'Espagne, d'Italie, de Suisse, de Belgique et d'Australie. Yelp a attiré plus de 66 millions de visiteurs uniques en Q4 2011. Fin Q4 2011, les yelpeurs ont écrit plus de 25 millions d'avis sur les commerces de proximité, ce qui fait de Yelp le premier guide local de bouche à oreille pour tous les commerces, des boutiques et mécaniciens en passant par les restaurants et dentistes. En moyenne, plus de 5.7 millions de visiteurs uniques par mois ont utilisé les applications mobile Yelp en Q4 2011 pour les aider à décider de l'endroit où dépenser leur argent et ce où qu'ils soient.
