I started my own blog a while ago and I attempted to build it on my own. It was way harder than I thought! I got a quote from giraffe builder and within about 3 weeks my blog was live and ready to use. I also chose to do the seo services and my blog gets way more hits so I think I'll stick to the monthly plan with them. Awesome team.11/05/2015 It was delightful to work with you. Thank you for the great review! Your blog posts are always so… En savoir plus
There are so many options of good hookah cafes in the valley, where I live. You would think there would be just as many in the mid-city area but that's not the case at all. I had been searching and searching for a decent hookah cafe that served both hookah AND food in this area but none came about until Baba Ghanooj. Baba Ghanooj is everything you could ever want in a hookah cafe - quality hookah, excellent service and delicious (and might I add, authentic) mediterranean food all at very reasonable prices. What makes this business even more appealing is how WELCOMING the owner Sam is. He is the type of business owner who will come up to you, strike up a conversation, make sure you're well taken care of and more importantly, thank you for coming. Can't wait to tell a bunch of my friends about this place and go back!
Contrary to a review that might be for a hookah lounge in Long Beach with the same name but different spelling - this play does NOT charge by the hour. All the hookahs are more than fairly priced.
PS - get the knefe, it's homemade and extremely tasty!
I work in Burbank and I drove all the way out here on my one hour break because I just had to try these tacos everyone's been raving about.
I ended up being 20 minutes late.
Was it worth it? HELL YES.
Didn't care much for the shrimp taco but their regular fish tacos are just heavenly. The batter is perfect and the sauces are even better. Crispy, fresh and made right before your eyes.
Keep doin' your thing Ricky!
I'm convinced that they sprinkle their kettle corn with cocaine.
I felt like Whitney Houston, disguised as a foodie, binging on furikaki kettle corn.
Okay no, their secret ingredient is not cocaine. Whatever the ingredients are, they work together just perfectly. A heads up to all of the fish haters, vegans, vegetarians and all others with shameful palates - I did taste a hint of fish oil in the kettle corn.
Top that fish oil with some prawn heads! I downed them in one bite of course . I did enjoy the grilled bodega prawns but I found them to be a little dry. They're presented on a bed of avocado smash and although it looks pretty, I just didn't think the flavors complimented each other.
Even though I wasn't blown away by the prawns, A-Frame can seriously have 90% of their dishes taste like crap and still win me over with their burger. Anything that leaves behind drippings of meat juice and runny egg yolk is a solid 5 stars in my foodie Bible. LAweekly, LAtimes and EaterLA, you guys be trippin' because this fried egg double cheeseburger deserves to be on every one of your burger lists.
To make up for that high influx of cholesterol, me and my girlfriend paired the burger with the asparagus. Granted this had frieg egg and pancetta on it too but bare with me, at least there are veggies involved.
Think I'm done? Nope, we still had room for dessert. THICK ASS ICE CREAM SANDWICHES. Who in their right mind can turn something with that title down?
Loved the salted cookie but the black pepper ice cream was just too much of an unfamiliar taste for me. I would have much rather preferred a sweeter ice cream.
Chef Roy, or Papi Chulo (lol), really takes an idea and executes it to its utmost potential. A-Frame is what it was set out to be, a backyard, get your fingers dirty kind of epic meal.
Want that downtown vibe but don't want to drive all the way out there?
You don't have to. Next Door Lounge offers just that and it's smack dab in the middle of Hollywood.
I'm obsessed with The Edison in downtown. I love the decor and I love the theme. In fact, I like anything themed. I adore downtown bars so much because places like Library Bar, Edison and 7Grand are in fact, themed.
Well, Next Door Lounge is too! Dark, mysterious, waitresses dressed as flappers...it's all in the package. The people that work there are great too. I went with my girlfriends the 2nd day they were open and I personally met the owner. My waitress was a sweetheart too.
They give you free munchies like pickled vegetables. They're the perfect little snack before a fancy schmancy drink.
Next Door Lounge has a great vibe, impeccable service and a reasonably priced menu. I know this business will do great!06/07/2011 Thank you and please come back again!
Roti Bon replaced Surf City in the Fashion Square. Let me tell you, it was a ritual of mine to combine my love of shopping and peanut butter banana smoothies. So for me to move on was, let's say, tough.
They finally opened and provided samples for us folks who aren't too familar with this Vietnamese sweet bread. And although I think it's a nice treat to grab once in a while, I can't see it being a successful business venture.
I just dont presume a roti bun craze any time soon.
BUT, what I do see is a macaron (yes, it is spelled macarOn and not macarOOn) craze! If you aren't familiar with macarons, familiarize yourself because they are a gift from the French Gods.
When I saw a macaron banner, I thought to myself, great another pastry business that's selling macarons that are shipped to them days or weeks prior. But because I'm so devoted to these little Parisian gems, I still had to give it a try.
me: Where do you guys order your macarons from?
cashier: Actually, we bake them ourselves.
I jumped for joy (in my mind of course).
I ordered the blueberry. It was baked perfectly! Crispy on the outside and velvety smooth on the inside.
And just to let the public know, these macarons are an absolute steal. Delicious and only $1.00! Yes, $1.00! When was the last time you bought anything for a buck that wasn't from a vending machine or McDonald's?
I'm sure they'll raise prices soon, considering the fact that Lette and other macaron shops sell theirs for $3.00 or more.
My macaron was so heavenly that I went back and bought 5 more. So, if you're ever in the Fashion Square and need to satisfy your sweet tooth, get a macaron from Roti Bun while they're hot and cheap.
My stomach was telling me Zankou but my brain was telling me to opt for a healthier option, so Studio Cafe Magazzino it was!
Upon entering, I was greeted by a woman with the biggest smile on her face. She was quick to chat me up but not in an overly talkative way. She just has one of those contagious personalities where if she's happy, then that automatically makes you happy. I say this because I was even happy while waiting for my food. I think that says something!
The setting is quaint, charming and completely rustic. They even have baskets hanging from the ceiling. Interestingly enough, it looks super cute and completely ties in with the decorative theme.
The food is simple, fresh and plentiful. They gave me three slices of bread with my sandwich and salad order. My smoked salmon sandwich on rosemary bread was quite tasty but I would have preferred some more goat cheese on there. Their house salad is not your typical house salad either. No carrots and no cherry tomatos here. Try sundried tomatos, goat cheese and a creamy balsamic vinaigrette! Fancy for a house salad, huh?
Bottom line, you get a nice chunk of great food for a fiddling sum of money. AND they have half and half combos...something Sweet Salt, another sandwich shop a few blocks down, can adopt.
In my neighborhood? Thank GOD!
Trendy, good looking people, innovative menu and an absolutely gorgeous building!
I actually hated my meal but that's totally my fault. I hate really fatty meat. The texture just doesn't do it for me. So why did I order the pork belly skewers? Because I have some cajones, that's why.
If I were a greasy and rubbery meat lover, I'm sure this dish would have been awesome because of that nice great char on the outside. But oh well, at least I tried.
I did however love my beet salad. Unlike other beet salads I've had, this one included not regular goat cheese, but breaded goat cheese. It was a nice little touch!
And how could you not like a place that's right near the subway? Awesome! You can litterally walk right across the street to the NoHo subway station.
Definitely a great place for Valley residents who want to go out but don't feel like venturing all the way to Hollywood.
