I am beyond frustrated. My fault is I fell for their sales pitch, and that is on me. They installed the solar and then the loan started. The problem is they did not work with dwp to get the unit functional. Now I am paying for both the dwp energy and for the loan repayment while useless solar panels are on my roof. This is going on 4 months. Completely unreliable company with horrible customer service. Do not work with them.
The entire experience was fantastic, but I want to give special thanks to Noush Dekermenjian. We wanted a custom ring, and she really understood what we wanted to achieve. She spent extra time researching and picking out our perfect stone. She gave us great advice--not overbearing, but she used her experience to help guide us. She truly cares about the couples she works with.
*BEWARE OF PARKING YOUR CAR IN THEIR LOT. THEY MAY TOW YOUR CAR!!!
I came and bought a drink and told the front waitress I'm going to be back for dinner in half an hour. I walk back and have dinner by myself then pay and go to find my car got towed!
I go to talk to the owner and he's asking me for proof of receipt treating me like I am squatting on his property. I have come here for lunch and dinner multiple times but with this type of treatment, I WILL NEVER COME BACK. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE I KNOW.
This type of treatment is just ridiculous. Completely Unprofessional.
I'm sitting here right now after having their dinner. This is really bad cafeteria food. I had 2 appetizers: lamb barley soup and the Swedish meatballs. OMG, the soup was oily and bland and it was served with a side of cornbread muffin. The muffin was so hard it had to have been microwaved and served. My partner had the house salad and Chinese spareribs. The ribs were super tough and really salty. The house salad was poorly chopped and also bland.
If I could I would give this zero stars. It was that bad and such a disappointment. I've been wanting to try this place out for a while. But I should have known not to expect much when the menu looked like some international fare. There's a Chinese dish, an Indian dish, ceviche, Swedish meatballs, etc. Nothing made sense and everything tasted like it was truly cafeteria food.
I used to live in the building and take classes and it was super convenient. Just had to take the elevator down to the lobby and there was the wonderful huge studio with an instructor welcoming me in. I would go 4-5x a week and sometimes 2x a day b/c I also worked in DTLA and did the lunch class.
I've moved out of the building, now live in the SG area and work in Downey, and I continue to find myself coming back to this studio. I have tried 3 other studios in Pasadena that do Hatha/Vinyasa and none of them compare. Not the studio space and the decor, the instructors, nor even the pricing.
YCD is a donation-based studio and when I had hard times, Knekoh worked w/ me to provide a sliding scale and there have been times I have donated my time in exchange for classes. I've asked other studios and none would ever allow me to volunteer in exchange for a class.
But even aside from the cost, there is no other studio that looks as gorgeous. It's absolutely stunning. From the high ceilings, sky light windows, the beautiful painted column that stretches to the lovely full lotus painted on the ceiling...just everything about this place is magical. Knekoh, the owner, is always accessible for questions and I love how she remembers everyone's names.
I've tried all their classes and gotten to know all the instructors. I gravitate towards Maureen, then Shad and finally Knekoh. They have been teaching there for many years and all of them are very experienced and approach yoga in their own distinctive way. Maureen is absolutely amazing. I try to go to as many of her classes as I can fit in. I always find myself more calm, centered and full of energy after one of Maureen's flow classes. I love her soft but reassuring voice, how she walks around and helps everyone and how she ends her classes by putting lavender oil on each student while they are in savasana.
You really have to try out this studio. There are definitely plenty of regulars who've been attending and it's easy to see why.
I went with the intention of signing up for the intro unlimited monthly classes because I've been looking for a new yoga studio in the area and based on reviews from fellow yelpers, it seemed like a good place to check out.
I took Tara's Power Yoga class. It was very disappointing. As an intermediate student who has practiced yoga for several years, I was able to follow her instructions but as I looked around, I saw a lot of beginner students who were lost and in improper poses but Tara didn't bother to go around and correct their form. She just led the class from the front and whoever could follow would follow. The rest were left to struggle. Also I found the sequences she chose to go from one asana to the next were disjointed and awkward. She didn't show modified poses and some poses I found were just plain unsafe. There was very little pranayama work done to connect the breath to the movements.
I ended up paying for just a single class. I couldn't stomach the thought of going to another class. It was that bad.
I came from the Yoga Circle Downtown where the studio was absolutely beautiful, spacious and clean. You don't see pipe lines like at Yoga Blue. The owner and instructor is patient, helps new students, thoroughly demonstrates and explains each asana. Every class is exhilarating, spiritual and meaningful.
Now I'll have to search for another studio or commute to my old studio.
Jenny is what yelpers described. She's attractive, efficient, full of energy, and she will get you in & out in 15 min flat.
But once on her table, I was turned off by her technique and the brazilian wax she gave me. She complimented herself whole doing the wax, saying yes it's true I'm fast. That's because she puts a huge dollop of wax on you, to the point where a lot of it got in my clitoris and vagina, and then just puts a large cotton strip and yanks it all off. And while that may make the process quick for her, I found it more painful than having someone carefully place the wax and do thinner strip section by section. And in her speedy waxing, I came home to see a lot more stranded hairs still present (more than I would from any other wax person I've gone to) and I had to use a towel to rub off all the globs of wax still stuck to the insides.
I would NOT recommend Jenny. She's got a lively personality and she's nice but I don't like her rush job.
This place is really just an ordinary Thai massage place where they say they do Swedish but they really do it badly. I came and asked for a 90min combo (Thai & Swedish) and Christine basically gave me a mediocre Thai massage and like 5 min of Swedish but done badly. And to top it off she leaves the room for 10min without telling me and I can hear her chit chat chatting with someone else and laughing. She finishes and I look at the clock and she didn't even do the full 90min.
Needless to say I would not recommend this place to anyone. I won't be coming back.
The food is great: fresh, reasonably priced, good sized portions and the servers are attentive and quick. My complaint is the horrible service from the 40-50s hostess (probably the owner's wife). She is so inefficient, incompetent and she holds back her wait staff.
Why the hell would you leave tons of empty tables open then make people sign up on the list just to wait for the same damn table. The servers are quick and they pick up after each other... So why are you holding them back. Nothing is worse than seeing management fuck up a good restaurant. You give a horrible impression to patrons by having them wait and stare at all the empty tables (including seating at the bar). Just let everyone sit and just have water or coffee and wait to get their orders to be taken.
Or... Why don't you just get up and serve like all your wait staff. So many times I see you just walk back and forth doing nothing! You are so useless!
I love coming here for the food but really...the sour face of the hostess and her inefficiency has made me look elsewhere for simple American food.
