We were super excited to get a new Thai restaurant right here in the neighborhood! Its a tiny place, only maybe a dozen tables and a small bar, but the layout makes good use of the small space. It has a very new, clean, vibe to it.
There was a mild language barrier when it came to ordering and description of the dishes we ordered, but that's typical for a white boy at the Thai restaurant.
We ordered to go, and had a 25 minute wait for the food which was no big deal, we watched television at the bar. When we got our food we had mixed opinions about what we thought about it.
The Chicken Satay with the house made peanut sauce was bomb. Hands down delicious! Unfortunately the entrees weren't as good. We had the Roast Duck Curry (mild) and it was still pretty spicy. Im scared of what the standard hot would be. The over all flavor was okay but there was much too much pineapple overpowering the dish and the duck was very dry and tough.
Our other entree was minced beef and onions which was also very very dry. Seemed to be over cooked.
Overall we think we will give this place another chance. Some of the other dishes we saw go to other tables looked really good. We shall see!
I've been waiting for this park to open for years!
The park is beautiful! A wonderful way to connect the surrounding neighborhoods and a great open place to go outside and play.
There are a lot of trees planted, especially near picnic areas and along the walking path, but the trees are young and arent giving too much shade at the moment. I would bring an easy-up if I was picnicking in one of the uncovered picnicking sites.
The visitor center isnt fully operational yet although it does have a few educational displays about the families who farmed here. There is also a time line playing out all the history from the local area. Great place for agriculture and history enthusiasts.
The park doesnt have your standard playground, but it does have an equally entertaining Children's Discovery Farm which offers structures to climb on, a large tree trunk to climb in, a fun tractor ride, and some examples of farm animals that can be interacted with as well.
The park is finally up and running but there is so much more to come. The info is available at the front kiosk and visitor center.
So far the only downside ive encountered in the speed that some of the guests will drive through the park. Does someone need to be mowed down before something is done to slow traffic? Please be courteous and slow down when coming in off Snell. We have many children, pedestrians, and cyclists here.
A boba spot near the Rancho Santa Teresa Neighborhood! Walking distance! Woo!
Very very clean store. I was surprised at the lay out when I first came in. I didnt realise it was a dine in place as well. The staff are very friendly and service has always been quick. My boba teas have always been just what I wanted and they have quite a collection of pearls and jellies to choose from.
I stop here on my way home from work.
:3 Peach Tea with Bursting Strawberry Pearls :3
This review only applies to the Aquarium Department
Starting off with something good, this place is the only place i have found that sells filter parts! individual parts for marineland filters, pretty handy! A good selection of filters and accessories actually.
However, the prices are a little on the high side and parts are frequently missing from packages, so check your stuff before you buy it!
The big no-no of this place is the state that the animals live in. The tanks are gross and there has never been a time when i have been there that there haven't been dead fish in the tanks. long enough that the carcasses have been devoured by surviving fish... which later then died.
As a whole, the store is on the dirty side. Very dusty, cobwebs on the merchandise, not a fan. The staff is rather lifeless as well and often hard to find.
Also this place is cash only. They take debit when their machines are working.
Its weird that a store of that size would be cash only.
I'm not saying its a front but.................
We went in for Sunday night dinner.
We were a little on the late side, so the restaurant was pretty empty, so service was super attentive. They were very friendly and personable.
The selection of beers is ridiculous! a binder full of options to choose from at your table. My only complaint was that they only had ONE cider to choose from, bummer.
I had the pulled pork meal with the slaw and it was great! Idk what that sauce is that the pulled pork is served with, but its potent and delicious. Mild spice but a great tang. The baked beans were good to, but the slaw... oh yes... the slaw was amazing. so fresh and clean tasting. i loved it.
Unfortunately i didn't get to sample their desserts, but i saw a few go out and they looked wonderful. we will be going back soon and i want to get me some of that berry cobbler!
So far, this is my favorite place to eat in Morgan Hill.
I love this place. It's totally chill and the bar tenders are awesome. Very friendly.
Tip well and they will take care of you for sure.
Its a small place, but it makes the best use of the space possible and has a small outside patio area in the back.
My friends and i come here every time we just want to hang out and not have to deal with the ratchets next door at splash.
The three stars is a stretch... but the facility itself is really clean and modern and interesting so that is it's saving grace.
As for the bar tenders, a few of them need to take a refresher. On multiple occasions I have ordered Whiskey-Cokes and gotten rum instead. also, i had to explain to one of them what a 7 n 7 was. Like... really?? Also, some of there well drinks (i know, don't expect quality in wells) are just so bad, i cant even describe wtf i just put in my mouth. I will order 3 of the same drinks and get 3 different forms of whatever poured in my glass. pretty much 0 consistency.
The music is touch and go as well. I understand that music is a matter of personal taste, but.... some middle ground between dubstep and latin would be great. Can a boy get some hip hop? a throw back even?
With the sketchy cocktails, the cover, and the music selection, I cant say i would willingly return. You can find me next door at Mac's.
We went for dinner on a Thursday night, looking to try something new. The restaurant has a very open feel with a lot of seating. It is very clean and the staff was very attentive and friendly.
Along with our meal, you get a complimentary appetizer and shave ice dessert.
The Tom Yum was full of chicken and veggies and had amazing flavors. I look forward to going back and trying more of their menue.
Ive come through here a few times with a couple different groups of friends. The place is generally chill and laid back during the weekdays. I like that its actually a lounge with a lot of seating and the fireplace with the huge comfy chairs is probably my favorite touch.
It gets a little loud around 10pm tho, which we were not prepared for on a Wednesday. Atleast the music was good.
This place is everything. I love the staff in their period clothing, the dim lights, and the laid back patrons. Not a crazy crowd at all. Its a great place to go with a chill group of friends and have THE MOST AMAZING drinks I've found in San Jose.
We've been back several times.
Drinks are about $12 each, but one drink has enough magic in it to get a good buzz going. Love it.
