Absolutely love this little studio! Great classes, friendly vibe, challenging but accommodating for all levels. Love Pilates with Kimmy and Cardio and Condition with Natalie! So happy East River Pilates is in the neighborhood!
My favorite workout ever! It's like a dance party and a gym class all in one, set to a ridiculously great soundtrack.
Sadie is a firecracker, the live(!!) DJ sets by DJ Bourgeois are super fun and I've never sweated so much in a class in my life. I've recommended it to all of my friends and coworkers and everyone who comes is as obsessed as I am.
And you don't need to be a good dancer - just up for a fun workout. Do it!
Fantastic gym! Brand new amazing equipment, super clean, great space, NEVER crowded.
Honestly, the nicest equipment at any gym I've been to -- state-of-the-art machines and technology and everything works (no broken machines). The staff is always making sure everything is clean and tidy and working properly. This gym is a breath of fresh air. Saunas coming soon too!
And no initiation fee! Just month-to-month. So happy this is in the neighborhood!
Love Dr. Putta! Very knowledgeable and attentive. She is a great listener and truly cares about how you are feeling. Highly recommended!
I've recommended her to several of my friends and every single one of them has been so happy to have Dr. Putta in their life.
I've finally found the dream team!
I, too, am obsessed with Alissa's magical cuts. I have thick, wavy hair and Alissa's dry cutting technique and expert bang trims are unparalleled. I love that she is able to create "pretty hair" that still has personality and serious style. I've been going to her for years and, simply put, she's the best!
My newest Neil George discovery is Kacey the color queen. It had been about 3 years since I had my hair colored in a salon (after a couple of bad experiences) and Kacey has given me faith again! She did a really cool technique called "tipping out" where she weaved highlights into the ends of my hair. It's really subtle but with the perfect amount of edge -- slightly beachy but still sassy. I think this is honestly the best color I've ever gotten. Thank you!
Love Neil George and absolutely looove Alissa and Kacey!
I'm not vegan - though I do enjoy myself some good vegan stuff - and I certainly enjoyed myself at Flore. I went with two friends for dinner and we all LOVED it!
Tastes super fresh, innovative menu choices, and lots to choose from. Definitely a sandwich-wrap-salad-y kind of place, very casual. Perfect for a low-key meal that's quick, cheap, and good for you... and delicious!
I highly recommend "The Wrap" and my pals enjoyed the quesadilla (cashew cheese tastes a bit like peanut butter, though) and the fake tuna salad sandwich. Sounds weird, tastes great!
I am so glad to have a *real* frozen yogurt place in the 'hood.
Get Svelte (despite the horrible name) has delicious frozen yogurt and decent toppings. They have regular, low-carb, sugar-free, etc. Flavors change frequently. There are a couple of tables outside and a few inside so you can sit and enjoy it.
I'm not a fan of the sour-smelling Pinkberry style of yogurt so I hope this place stays around!
Fun atmosphere and, despite its small size, a really cool selection of shoes and bags. When I went in, they only had about 4 purses and all of them were incredible.
Shoe prices range from relatively inexpensive ($50-$90) to more pricey but their buyer has a great eye. Definitely worth checking out. My friend and I stopped in and she ended up leaving with 3 pairs!
One of my favorite vintage stores ever. Small but great selection and really good prices (especially compared to other vintage boutiques). Their stock of summer dresses is superb!
I almost never leave without buying a little something which can be bad and get a bit dangerous, but, sweet Squaresville, I won't hold that against you.
Great local pet store with an incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Plus, they have some very cute cats up for adoption who are treated so well!
These metal guys who work there really know the products and they love cats. They have informed opinions about the food, litter, cat nips and are happy to help.
It is pretty expensive but I think worth it for the level of service and the ability to support a small, neighborhood place!
