If you arrive at Daniel's without a claim check, consider yourself SOL. It's well known throughout the Glenview community how the owner will make you jump through hoops over a misplaced ticket. He won't even honor one's drivers license as proof of identification. Just the other day, one of my lawyer friends entered the store without his ticket. He summoned the Glenview police to the retail establishment to settle the score and get his repaired watch back from Daniel's. The moral of the story: Next time you need jewelry and watches serviced, go to Raphael Jewelers at the intersection of Glenview and Waukegan Roads in Glenview. At Raphael, you're treated with respect with or without a stupid claim ticket!
Watch out for L'woods' pissy waitresses. The one who served us last night had quite the attitude. She even tried to pad the check by adding an extra plate of ribs. It's a good thing one of our friends caught her in the act!
My wife and I visited the Skokie location this evening and were terribly disappointed. We made a 7 pm reservation and were not seated until nearly 8:20. To be candid, the place is poorly configured for the swell in dinner traffic on a weekend .
Management showed little interest in satisfying our issues in a meaningful way. Service was just adequate and no one seemed to give a damn about us. Those in charge knew me when they were running things at Johnny's in Glenview for several years.
The place is just OK overall and needs to get its act together soon if it's going to establish itself in Skokie over the long haul
