Stopped here once again for lunch, on our annual Thanksgiving pilgrimage to Idyllwild. As always, the place is as clean and neat as a pin, the food is excellent, the wait staff are the friendliest people in the world. Very good Reuben sandwiches and hamburgers.

My mother engaged Mark's Dry Carpet Cleaning for a small rug in her office, the rug in her bedroom, and the stairway (8 steps from mid-level to upper level in her house).
First thing, the business name is wrong and is essentially false advertising. He did NOT do dry carpet cleaning. Instead, he hooked up to her water supply (the front faucet) and her electricity to do a WET cleaning. When he was done he didn't even have the courtesy to reconnect the garden hose.
He did NOT clean the three areas she wanted - he told her that "stairs are not included." So she got only 2 areas even though the advertisement clearly indicates 3 areas.
My perspective is that they lied to and bilked a 95 year old lady - my mother. I don't appreciate that.
If you're looking for quality carpet cleaning with the work done AS ADVERTISED, there are better choices.
I cannot recommend this outfit, and I suspect that the 1 and 2 ratings given in Yelp are probably quite accurate.
Called at 11:00 Saturday morning, asked for parts. Got voicemail. Msg says "Hi, I"m away from my desk, will get back to you as soon as I can." By 7:00 this evening they still haven't gotten back. The telephone operator transferred me to this number TWICE. I hung up the first time, then called back, got the VM again, and left my contact information.
This is about the sorriest excuse for customer service I've seen in quite a while. If your office is closed, SAY SO! Don't act like you're in the office and will get back to me shortly.
Can't rate this zero stars, so I guess it's a one for now.

I've been seeing Dr. Nakasone for quite a few years now, and feel like he's head and shoulders above any other's I've been to. He's down-to-earth, exceptionally thorough, and knows his stuff. I can't see any reason to look for anyone else if I don't just have to -- like moving or something like that.
IMHO, you'll be hard put to find anyone better.
I have no idea how good their pizza actually is. We called trying to get delivery, and got routed into interminable hold messages -- THREE TIMES. No person answering. It just goes straight to advertisements. After holding for 4 minutes with no acknowledgement that there is even anyone working at Pizza Hut, we opted to call another outfit.
Got through right away, placed the order, and in less time than it took to wait on hold with Pizza Hut.
With all due respect, your customer interface sucks.
You might want to go on an improvement plan.
My family had a great lunch at BJ's Sunday. Food was good - shrimp tacos, calm chowder, and the chicken - spinach - quinoa combination. Not 5-star, but pretty darned good.
Dustin, our server, was superb - exceptionally attentive and helpful. BJ's could use several more like him! 5 stars for service.
Noise level was kind of high - likely due to the all the football games on the various screens throughout the restaurant. 3 stars for ambience, but just about everyone in there was having a lot of fun.

We have stayed here every time we visit Bandon. This time we got the Egyptian room. It had a kitchen with 4-burner stove, a smaller apartment-style fridge, microwave, and full-size coffee maker (not the dinky little 4-cup hotel units). The bed was comfortable, Wi-Fi reception was excellent (I use that a LOT on trips) and there was a sliding door going out to a little patio next to the side street. The patio was smallish, but had a small table and two chairs - enough for 2 people to have wine and cheese in the evening before going to dinner.
If you are someone who likes cool air to help you sleep, the sliding door will be just the trick. Open it a crack, listen to the ocean and the occasional moan of the fog horn, and nod off.
The front desk staff were friendly and helpful with all requests, and a lady there (might have been the owner?) told us repeatedly that if there was ANYTHING we needed, to just let them know.
As stated, we have stayed there several times before. I have to agree with some of the comments about the cottages - they ARE older and smaller. We stayed in one once, and decided that we prefer the newer units.
No issues at all and we enjoyed the 5-night stay. We'll be back.
A good place to stay the night.
It was 106 degrees when we got into Red Bluff. The room was neat and clean. The AC unit in the wall was pretty quiet but definitely got the job done. Karen, one of the room service staff, was VERY quick to provide more kleenex and a couple of replacement light bulbs that had burned out. The bed was pretty comfortable, the room was cool, and I got a good night's sleep. That's all I ask.
We didn't use the breakfast service - went up the road to the Black Bear diner in Redding instead.
I would definitely stay at this Best Western again.
Tomas Gonzalez has been doing the gardening services for my mother in Carlsbad for several months now. He is unfailingly polite, does VERY good work, and has reasonable rates. We have found him much more reliable than other gardeners that Mom has had in the past.
His services are:
- Complete Landscaping
- Clean up and hauling
- Irrigation systems
- Mowing and edging
- Palm tree trimming
- General tree trimming
- Tree removal
- Stump removal
- Lot clearing.
Mom is extremely pleased with the work that he does for her, which is a LOT! :-)
I definitely recommend him to anyone who needs his services.
I'm leaving this at 1 star for the noise, the loss of sleep, and non-responsiveness of the front desk. However, it turns out that one of the two charges I referenced is because of a "hold" that is put on my credit card. It apparently does not drop off immediately when the bill is paid, so we see two charges when checking on-line banking.
The "hold" charge did drop off and the billing is now correct.I have rated this a "one" because Yelp has no zeros.
