Tasty food, aromatic and well-spiced without being spicy, and a nice selection of appetizers and entrees. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated and the service is attentive. As a bonus, you can bring your own wine. Well worth visiting if you live in the general area

OK, now that PJ Horgan's is history, we're down to a select few remaining old school Irish bars in Queens. This is one of them. Nice non-trendy atmosphere, friendly waitresses, and you don't have to pay 16 bucks to eat a burger -- and needless to say Donovan's burger is truly one of the best in NYC. For the boomers who still remember Queens when a one-bedroom dump in Sunnyside/Woodside cost what it was worth  -- about $200 instead of the current laughable $1800 -- Donovan's is greatly appreciated, but even millennials can enjoy the burgers and suds.

The Mountaineer is a beautiful store with excellent merchandise, from heavy-duty back-country equipment to high-end clothing, and a knowledgable and friendly staff. Always fun to stop here en route to Lake Placid and the High Peaks and tough to walk out of the place without buying something, whether you need it or not!

Nice, diverse menu, reliable food and very good service. Although the current Donovan's lacks some of the charm and coziness of the old Donovan's, it's an attractive room, provides a good atmosphere, and the bar area is attractive as well. Not much more to say about the food or ambiance. Just a good, local choice.

Can't recommend this cozy little neighborhood restaurant enough, which is why I'm writing a follow-up review in support. This is a restaurant that deserves to do well. The pasta and sauces are fresh and delicious, the service super-friendly, and we finally tried the thin-crust pizza, which was delicious (our kids seconded the appraisal when we brought them home the leftovers to reheat). You're getting Manhattan-quality Italian food at Queens prices, and with a nice little bonus that you can bring along your own wine. Try this wonderful restaurant and you won't be disappointed on any level.

I don't generally write reviews of restaurants if the experience is negative, but in this instance I must say this is the worst meal I have had in NY in a long time. Pasta tastes as if it comes straight out of a bag from the supermarket shelf. The pesto sauce on one of the dishes we had tasted worse than what you'd  get out of a Trader Joe's jar. Eggplant appetizer was a joke: couple of small pieces of eggplant dumped on two pieces of grilled bread with cheese shavings that are dropping off like snow. What a tasteless mess! Be forewarned that it's cash only, which isn't apparent when you walk in the place, and the in-restaurant machine charges a nice fee to wrap up a decidedly negative experience. Other reviewers appear to like the place, so it just goes to show about taste.

Thank goodness for the Kew Gardens Cinema. Shows terrific, adult films (no exploding cars here, no Ironmen, no lobotomized audiences) in a convenient Queens location.

I'll admit the place doesn't appeal much to me as a spot for a meal, but as a place to hang out with your significant other or friends and a glass/bottle of wine, maybe a light snack, or a coffee/cappuccino, it works just fine.

Very comfortable outdoor seating area, good for people-watching and friendly service. You can sit here nursing a glass of wine without the waiter or anyone else bothering you.

Very good choice to wrap up a weekend night.

Went to Sabry's for the first time last weekend and I must say the grilled bass I had was as good as anything you'll find at Astoria's best seafood restaurants, and perhaps even better. What differentiates the style of cooking here as opposed to Greek-style is the complexity and layer of spices. I can't imagine a better-tasting fish anywhere in NYC, truly.

My wife had the grilled octopus, which was also quite good, as others have posted, but for my money if you come here you have to get at least one fish dish. Kudos, too, to the fresh pita, which is nice and fluffy -- a welcome change from the commercially baked pita.

I found the service to attentive and friendly. Atmosphere is casual.

My wife and i love the beautiful Adirondacks and we love Blue Moon Cafe, go there every time we're in the area. Good, creative food and a nice vibe, fine service. This is a real find!
