Someone recommended Luna's and so earlier today I thought I would give it a try for dinner. Well, not a good decision.
After reviewing the menu I decided to try something 'safe' so I ordered the meat loaf with mashed potatoes and gravy. The meat loaf had very little seasoning, if any. It had an odd taste. It also appeared to be overcooked around the edges. There was quite a 'crust' on it. Overall, not appetizing at all. The 'mashed' potatoes were quite lumpy. I had to finish mashing them with the fork. It appeared they had been mashed quickly, possibly just before they were served. Again, lack of seasoning, particularly salt. Not good at all. I didn't finish either item.
And when I tried to pay my check, there was no one at the register. I probably stood there about 3 minutes before another customer got in line behind me. She finally summoned a waiter and asked if we could pay our bills. The response was, "I don't know where she is." He then disappeared for a moment and then returned and said "She will be with you in a minute." Not good customer service.
The whole meal was not very good. While the price was reasonable, the food didn't live up to the hype that I received. I don't think I would either recommend this place or go there again. There are better places with food that is more appetizing. A real disappointment for sure.
This company has the worst customer service of any company from which I've ordered products. In fact, customer service is non-existent. I placed an order for a couple of items and I wasn't able to get any info about the shipment. I sent 2 e-mail and sent 2 messages using their own message feature on their website. All went unanswered. I finally received the products and while they weren't the best quality, I wouldn't even think about trying to return them. This company should not be allowed to be involved in e-commerce. They are horrible. It's no wonder that all of the reviews are one or two stars. Those are actually too high. I would give them a negative 1 star if I could. Buy at your own risk.
I had not been to Francesco's for quite a while. I stopped there today and bought the daily special - stuffed cabbage rolls and homestyle mashed potatoes. It was one of the worst stuffed cabbage roll dishes I've ever had. Not seasoned well. Cabbage was very tough. Some pieces were almost raw. And the 'mashed potatoes'? Threw most of it away. This place seems to have continually gone downhill over the past few months. I doubt I will be back again.Went to Francesco's a couple of days ago. Ordered a corned beef on rye sandwich and a sausage and… En savoir plus
I ordered a funeral arrangement for delivery before 2:00 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, the first viewing. I received a phone call Friday morning around 9:30 a.m. from some lady at their location stating that they didn't have any gladiolas for the arrangement, that they were very difficult to get in the winter. I asked why the particular item was on the website if they didn't have the necessary flowers. The answer was that she would have to look into it. Then she wanted to know if I would be willing to switch to a plant or a vase of flowers. I said the reason I ordered the standing display was to be a bit different. She then said she didn't know what they could do but that she would call the other store. I heard nothing more from them. The flowers did not arrive until about 2:30, half an hour after the viewing began. And the arrangement was not very well done. They replaced the gladiolas with carnations and what appeared to be daisies. There were several arrangements there with white gladiolas so obviously they aren't that difficult to procure in winter as I was told. I tried to give a local business an opportunity. And they blew it. I've ordered from 1-800-flowers for many, many years and never had a problem. One time with this organization and they mishandle the order from beginning to delivery. I don't feel the quality of the arrangement was worth the price I paid. I've tried to call the Broadview Hts store several times and I keep getting a recorded message. I certainly cannot recommend this florist.
I've been to Hop Hing 5 times in the past 6 weeks. I've had 5 different dishes.
Three of the dishes were top notch (General Tso's Chicken, Tai Chen Chicken and Moo Goo Gai Pan). One was a combo meal and the other two were just the dish. I really liked all of these. The only downside is that the spice on the Tso and Tai Chen were not hot enough for me. But there was plenty of food with all three. I would definitely order again.
I also had the Roast Pork Szechuan Style. The pork was not very good. It was very dry and tough. And there wasn't much pork in the dish. The total quantity (less the pork) was great but the quality not so great. I wouldn't order again.
The last dish was Shrimp w/Lobster Sauce. The shrimp were big and plentiful. But the the lobster sauce was lacking. It reminded me of egg drop soup. I've had much better lobster sauce. So I had mixed feeling about this. I wouldn't order this dish again but perhaps a different style shrimp would be okay.
I guess it depends on what dishes you like. The chicken seems to be very well done. Not sure I would order any pork dish again.
Their service is usually very speedy, about 10 minutes from call to pick-up. I would definitely recommend this place for Chinese food.
While the portions were okay, they advertise 'jumbo' shrimp in some of their dishes. We ordered two of these dishes and the shrimp weren't anywhere close to being 'jumbo'. In fact, they weren't even the regular size but the very tiny shrimp. It appeared that in one of the dishes they breaded 3 small shrimp together and deep fried them trying to make you think they were jumbo. All of the shrimp were prepared this way so it wasn't an accident. I think they need to revise their menu or change their meals. And having a very young girl bring me my carry-out is a bit disconcerting.
First time visit. Went for lunch with a friend. Interior was very pleasant but seemed a bit like a series of tunnels. Staff was very pleasant. Menu was a bit too extensive though. The server joked about the number of items, especially for lunch items, which were mainly soup, salads and sandwiches. He took drink orders and then came back a couple of times checking on us. When we finally ordered the waiter commented that their fries are fresh, that they had just cut the potatoes. So I was looking forward to the fries. I ordered a blue cheese hamburger. My friend ordered a chicken sandwich. Can't speak for my friend but my burger was just a bit overcooked. The fries, however, were a disappointment. They were soggy as though the oil was not quite hot enough and had soaked into the potatoes. I did not finish them. They were really not very good. Reminded me of carnival fries. Not sure I would go there again.
I stopped at Narducci's yesterday and purchased four pastry items. Two of them were really, really good. However, two of them appeared to be stale (nut roll type pastry). I think they had been baked a couple of days prior. Tried eating one but ended up throwing both away. Yeah, I could have gone back to the bakery but decided to just take the loss and not go there again. Unfortunate. It's located very close to me but as they say - you don't get a second chance to make a first impression.
I had not been to the Glenwillow Grille for about 2 years. My how things have changed. Five co-workers and myself, upon my recommendation, went to dinner there this evening. The waiter was over enthusiastic and tried to go out of his way to please us. This would have been a nice touch had the food lived up to the his hype. Unfortunately, the meals for half of us fell short.
When we ordered, some of us had salads, some had soup. There was no bread or crackers offered. When I questioned the waiter about this, his initial response was that no cracker really goes with bisque. I said it would have been nice had they at least offered either crackers or bread. His second response was that bread was usually only offered on weekends. Duh! This was a Wednesday. Sorry we didn't wait until the weekend. Not the best response to a diner.
Two of us had the Walleye. Not well seasoned. Totally flavorless. And the batter was so thick it could have made a meal by itself. It was very disappointing. One of the diners had the filet. He said it was way over seasoned. His suggestion was to cut the seasoning in half. I said they should have use some of the seasoning on the Walleye.
The other three diners were pleased with their meals, though they acknowledged it was just average. Overall, it was a disappointing evening. I felt as though the restaurant had let me down. After all, I recommended the place based upon my experience two years ago.
I would certainly not recommend this restaurant based upon this experience. There are better choices available in the area.
Went to the Solon location for lunch today. I think Shakespeare said it best. Much Ado About Nothing. Food was average. Service was slow. They asked if we had reservations. Really? For lunch? In Solon? LMAO
