We were taken here on our food tour and returned several times during our visit. The gelato is made fresh there daily and the people running the establishment were delightful. They don't have 500 flavors but the ones they have are excellent. When you eat the pistachio you can taste the wonderful nut flavor so clearly. We also had the watermelon Granita with cream which was wonderful. So many choices for gelato but once we had the best the few others we tried paled in comparison.
Found this on trip advisor. My overall summary is that this is a small restaurant with wonderful homemade food by a family that obviously works very hard. They are friendly and I completely disagree with the reviews that say they gave poor service. I do think they are quite busy attending to their guests in this small but busy location which could be misconstrued by some as rude but we always received a smile with very efficient service. The pasta was fresh and the sauce was very flavorful. The best part of the meal was there amazing cheesecake. Do not leave without a piece!!
This was our second visit to Trump in Waikiki. This was and still remains one of my favorite hotels but there were a couple issues on this last visit. We arrived late and we're placed in a two bedroom suite which was an upgrade from the one bedroom we reserved. I think the upgrade was related to availability but cannot be sure. Two bedroom was lovely except for very windy balcony. Balcony was on northwest corner of building which offered no protection from wind. We tried to tolerate it but after second night we could not enjoy the sunset because of wind. It's important to note this wasn't a windy evening in Waikiki.
We spoke to front desk and we're moved to middle of building on 13 the floor in one bedroom suite. I noticed bed in two bedroom was more comfy but not markedly. So for the next two mornings we were woken by the sound of garbage truck at 630 am. The first morning it may have been delivery truck but second morning I got up and looked and it was garbage truck. I was so irritated I called front desk and complained but call was disconnected. I didn't call back because I knew hotel likely did not have control over garbage trucks.
We had a message waiting for us when we returned from manager. He offered to move us to the trump level in a two bedroom suite. Initially I declined since we only had one night remaining in our five night stay but my husband convinced me so we moved. Needless to say it was spectacular and again bed was super comfy.
I was very happy with the hotels response to our concerns. This was our second stay and our room on first visit was perfect so we were a little discouraged. We are normally slow to complain but in Hawaii in a 5 star hotel I do feel it should be near perfect. We will stay again.
Definitely deserving of 5 star rating. Reservation times are approximate so if your reservation is later you will wait for previous table to leave. We waited 30 minutes for our 8:15 reservation but this was our second visit so we knew it was worth the wait. All four dinners were excellent with rich flavors. We shared the bruschetta and crostini which were both superb. Don't think I would miss this restaurant on a trip to Honolulu.
We use airport transportation frequently. This was our first experience with Pleasant Limo. From start to finish they were excellent. Helpful on phone, extremely reasonable rates, very clean cars, pleasant drivers, smooth ride(did not feel like I was in taxi). Will definitely use again.
I really liked this place. Surprised others rated so low. Staff was very friendly, atmosphere was nice and food was delicious. My girls shared a Cobb sandwich thought it was "the best". We had your standard lobster rolls but they were quite tasty and priced similar to surrounding area. This is a touristy spot so prices will reflect that. Would recommend.
I found this restaurant on Yelp and was excited with such great reviews. We called and they were booked. We asked them to give us a call if they got a cancellation and they called with a 730 available time. They were very pleasant.
We arrived and and had a drink at the bar were seated fairly promptly. Restaurant had nice atmosphere.
We began with the lobster deviled eggs. They were definately fresh good for deviled eggs but if lobster wasn't in the name I would not have guessed there was lobster in the dish.
I had the chopped salad and my husband had the dinner salad with balsalmic dressing. Both were fresh, mine had good flavors.
For our main course I had the lobster mac and cheese (the appetizer left me wanting more lobster) and my husband had the the Hangar Steak. Mine wasn't at all special not even great for mac and cheese and again minimal lobster and no significant lobster flavor. My husband really didn't like his steak and although small didn't finish the dish. Really said the flavor was off.
The waiter recognized my husband didn't enjoy the flavor and was very apologetic. Although my husband would not have sent it back no one really came by to check if everything was ok until it would have been too late anyway.
The waiter did comp the dessert because of my husbands dislike of his dish and was very eagar to make it right. My husband ordered the molten lava cake and this was really dry without any real "molten" center.
I don't like to write bad review but this restaurant is way over rated in my opinion. The staff was very pleasant but they could not make up for the poor flavors in the food.
We will not return.
