My husband and I had dinner here for the first time tonight. The food was excellent all the way around. I had the carciofi (artichoke) appetizer and my husband had a selection of prosciutto and salame, both excellent. Then we both had the fresh peas and potato soup - FANTASTIC - with such a simple yet complex flavor that I'm still thinking about it. Next I had the salmon and he had the pork "saltimbocca" (prosciutto & sage), both cooked to perfection, other than they lacked a bit of salt. When we asked for the salt, it was cheerful brought out to us, instead of being taken as an insult (which happens in too many restaurants these days).
All the wines we tasted were superb and were a wonderful accompaniment to our dishes. The service was professional, friendly and flawless, really! And, since I'm Italian, I also have to say that I loved the fact that everything on the menu was spelled correctly -- frosting on the cake for me.
The restaurant is small, and very cozy. I loved that the music was at "ambient" level and did not detract from our conversation. The space is lovely.
We will be back!
The food itself was amazing, though portions were small (even for "small plates")! Appetizers we ordered were all incredibly good: bone marrow, beets with chocolate, brussels sprouts. Entrees we ordered at the table were sturgeon and ox tail, and I think the snapper. All were excellent, though on the smallish side. Desserts: chocolate cake got a thumbs up, but the Baked California was so-so. Both my husband and I went home a little hungry. Perhaps we did not buy enough small plates. French press coffee only (no expresso). Although the four of us ordered only two cocktails and one glass of wine, the bill was still $225 before tip. The Service was good though a bit pretentious. I repeat, the food was AMAZING and the ambiance nice. I think we'll go back, but we might have a snack before dinner! If the portion size had been larger I think I would have given this restaurant 5 stars.
I am a parent who has had two completely different experiences with Dr. Righellis, Dr Sears and staff, yet both have been excellent. (1) Our son, who is now 16, and has a perfect mouth, proceeded with the "usual" experience - early consultation with Dr. Righellis, who outlined and then followed a great plan. Our son had braces for about one and a half years, exactly the amount of time predicted. We were always greeted either in person or on the phone by professional and friendly administrative staff. Billing was efficient, appointments easily made/changed. I felt xrays were taken only as needed. The orthodontics staff was always fantastic in every way! Our son is still wearing a retainer, and seeing Dr. Righellis sporadically. In all our visits, I can't remember a time when my son's appointment began much later than the appointed time! We loved the process 100% (well, parking was not always easy -- but that was something we could overlook). (2) Our daughter, who is now 14, went in for her early consultation, and we got an initial recommendation for treatment from Dr. Sears. We felt we disagreed with this recommendation, waited the requisite 6 months, and then went in to talk with Dr. Righellis. Dr. Righellis gave us a "second" opinion, this time agreeing with us that he didn't feel that orthodonture was necessary for her. I chalk Dr. Sears' opinion perhaps to "overzealousness" of a young doctor beginning to practice, nothing more serious than that. However, what is FANTASTIC, is that Dr. Righellis was willing to actually not recommend treatment that was not necessary. This experience is almost more important to me than the first, since it is my opinion that there are not many professionals in the world of orthodonture or dentistry these days who are honest enough to forgo revenue in order to practice honesty. I would refer anyone to Dr. Righellis and to Dr. Sears with no hesitation at any time! They have earned my trust in the best possible way!
We have been customers since 1993, when we rebuilt our house after the Oakland Fire. We have had great service most of the time. The bookkeeper has always been helpful and professional, and when the error was hers, prompt to accept responsibility.
We have had a few glitches here and there over the years, but compared to the experience I've had with my mother's alarm company (Westec), AHM is like Heaven on earth!
I would recommend this alarm company without hesitation to anyone in the market for a new alarm and/or monitoring.
We visit this store usually once a week. We love their burritos! Great lattes! Beautiful desserts and a great assortment of fresh bread. Thier marinated pork loin is to die for (grilled). The cashiers and baggers are very nice and always friendly (yes, the baggers are often young, but usually incredibly helpful and do not have a chip on their shoulders). The produce can be a bit expensive, but is usually quite good. We watch the specials, and often get great deals on various products we buy regularly (including wild salmon). The bathrooms are clean and spacious.
We love this place!
This family-owned business is so much more than a shoe repair!!
Piedmont Cobbler has been renewing my shoes or fixing my belts, leather calendar covers, purses, leather watch straps etc., for as long as I can remember. There has never been a time that they have not gone over and above their responsibility to help me. They are always friendly, helpful and honest: if they can't help me they send me elsewhere. The shoes are always returned to me LIKE NEW. I am so happy they are close by and that they are always willing to help. Yes, I think sometimes the work is expensive, but you get what you pay for. I've tried other local shoe repairs and their work is cheaper, but nowhere near as good!!!!
We have been customers of Pak Oriental Rug, Inc. for over 15 years. We have always felt comfortable negotiating and buying rugs from them! They were always very willing to work with us on our budget and were always happy to come out to our home to bring rugs for us to look at, try, and to help us with decorating advice. We have always felt we got a very fair deal -- something difficult in the persian rug world (in our experience). We have recommended Pak to many of our friends over the years and would never hesitate to go back if we needed another rug! We've loved every rug we ever bought from them (many rugs as we rebuilt our home after the Oakland fire).
