This was a good cuban sandwich. Meat was plentiful and tasteful. The pickle, cheese and mustard as it should be. The bread is classic pressed and crunchy! Frankly I've never seen so much pork packed in a Cuban before. Check out the picture.
The tamale could have been hotter. It too is filled with meat in chunks, olives and raisins. Zero massa flavor in the mix so I guess the Mexican version has my heart.
We were provided a sampler slice of their ham sandwich and it was is great. Good move providing the "taster" as that will be my next sandwich order here. other sure what was adding a sweetness to it but it's a cool diversion from the old standard.
Flawless first class service. They have some products that really work great.
Restricted to a physician's referral only tho to be able to order.
Have your customized supplement regiment proportioned in little individual sealed packets that come as a continuous zip off as needed strip. Can have am & pm. portions made up. Really a time saver from pulling 8 - 12 bottles down and dealing out the daily portions. Sealed and sanitary too so packing for trips is easy too.
I was so surprised! This experience really exceeded my expectations. We had 2.5 hours of "funertainment" kicked up a notch with the 5 wine parings of the evening.
The room is a dimly lit spectrum and creates a romantic atmosphere. The chairs really could use an upgrade IMO but hey, I'm going back for couple more classes! I did pick up a couple cooking tips in addition to being fed and entertained by all the four chef's instructions.
To review each entree in depth would make a silly long review, so over all, this was great and tasty value for the bucks.
The crosini was a 3.5 stars no regrets (other than portion size- I could have piggly eaten a couple more!) Loved the "brine" accent the eggs presented!
Roasted potato and arugula salad tossed w/ warm vinaigrette was 5 stars. Damn good textures and apple wood bacon in the vinaigrette was really fantastic.
The Tuscan roasted veal (4 stars) w/ braised red cabbage (4 stars) and creamed radishes (2- flavorless but nice crunch texture added to the dish)
The Dark Chololate Ravoli w/ white Chocolate cream filling was a 5 star finish.
We're now thinking of putting a small group together for the "hands on" cooking event! I'm certain it will be a fun and tasty time.
The Pork Tropichop w/ pinto beans, rice and onion and moho is still a favorite, but the smaller meat portion is disappointing. Use to be the dish was covered with luscious juicy roasted pork, now its portioned more like a garnish.
The curry mustard on the fried yucca is a taste you must try, and the mango tea is the best mango tea I have yet to try.Pork Tropichop is pretty good at $4.29. Passed on rice and only had it with lettuce, pintos and… En savoir plus
The sexy lighting in this store is a delightful change from the stark bright surgery room environment typical of grocery stores. I like it. Small square footage store limits their choices but I always have found what I need - kinda like that old song...
Meat dept looks nice but my last $10.75 Sweet Italian Sausage purchase was OMG, nearly "turning" (if you recall the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Tho?" ) and must have missed the seasoning stage totally. ZERO seasoning short of the hint of carrion. Not Good.
Why is taking back some worthless chit always sorta embarrassing, even though all I did was purchase the crap? Oh well, next time in I'll ask for the manager, but today I'll apply my special bitchin trip anger management virtue.
I have always found the produce to be great . Perhaps better timing than some shoppers / reviewers here?
Plenty of parking on a Monday pm. This isn't a large store so selections are limited.
Friendly and helpful employees tho if needed. Funny tho that the wine selections alone take more store space than any other single commodity offered. YOU GO TRADER JOE!This is an okay grocery. Small square footage store, so limited in choices which may be their main… En savoir plus
This is that time of year when you justify just walking through the woods cause the weather is so great. This 2 mile trek was over way too soon. Well maintained path and marked so well there is very little chance of straying from the "cheese reward" end.
Sadly I report only one bird sighted but happily no bears, beavers, breasts or blood! (referencing "Billy Bob's" review stat scale)
Luckily for my companion Brandon was working on his day off and showed up just in time to open the center for another "call to nature" that was hard to ignore. He gave us the rundown on the sanctuary and the Audubon Society and met his three (stuffed) owls.
Worth the trip if you have a mind for nature and the simpler forms of entertainment and fulfillment.
Would have been five stars if there was a restroom accommodation of any sort not requiring a resource manager on duty.
Well sign me up for the Fan Club. Ya just gotta love guys who love to do what they do.
Their Ten Goal Single Barrel (93 proof) Bourbon Whiskey is where its at for me . All those flavored options just left me shruggin' my shoulders.
If you need some high test stuff for a recipe or just a boring weekend, well they have the cure at 119 proof! Hell, it's known to make rabbits rabid.
Their Tequila would have made the trip back to Florida too but they are still maneuvering the red tape tangles of gov-ment on some labeling issue. Sorry guys, next time!
As a bonus, for you historian types, the two gals outside the shop selling honey and such can give you the low down on their local politics back to the 1800's. They got's some juicy stuff to share too. In particular how this distillery managed to legally locate only 1 block away from the courthouse.
Truly a quaint little town Edgefield is, we really thought there should be a "Sac-O-Suds" grocery just outside of downtown. No such chance. Would have been a great photo-op.
Same as last time = same as all the previous.
Consistency, unique BBQ sauce and those old style "tots" just keep me coming back -for well lets just say for a very long time. Even though they have expanded their menu, I still order that same ole thang. Why mess with satisfaction?Beefy King simply doesn't seem give a damn !!
