I actually enjoy coming to this location during the day as the staff is real friendly to me... they know me. There were two awkward previous visits during the day when the owner was literally yelling at the staff... I wanted to leave as I felt so bad for them. She needs to learn to train or comment to her staff while customers are not watching. Every time I see her, I can only vision her anger management issues.
Tonight... I walked in and 'Carol' walked out from the back. It was weird as it first appeared no one was even in the restaurant working. When she came out there was no hello, can I help you nor did she even a crack of a smile or pleasant exchange. Obviously we were the absolute last thing she wanted to do. I actually had to laugh a little as it was SO BAD it became funny!! Really - get another job Carol if you hate this one so much. You should be glad I am not taking this too seriously but to vent this way. Merry Christmas and I hope your new year is a bit better! Cheers!
As for Mrs. Anger Management Issues Owner... you really need to get better employees at night, especially. Read your reviews... we can't all be wrong? I am sure Subway has conventions on treating employees respectfully and ethically. Also, how to train your employees... maybe you should try this? It might improve your sales.
I feel real sad to give this restaurant 2 stars especially when I learned it is owned by the same people who also own Brophy's Brothers. It seems hardly conceivable that they would have a mediocre restaurant now when they know what it takes to run a successful restaurant. Good flavorful food is a start.
My husband had the Bolognese and it was 'sweet?' Too much sugar... When was sugar ever a main ingredient for Bolognese? My Tacos were super bland! They should stick to the food they have mastered!
And the noise level. OMG. I could barely talk to my husband. They need to install something to absorb the noise. It's ridiculously loud in there and uncomfortable.
On a positive note, the chickpeas were great. Out waitress was real nice too. I would really like to see it succeed as the location is amazing and the patio seating is great for people watching.
On another one of my business trips and of course I have to stop at Goodwins!! I am always in a rush and I can count on Goodwins to get me in and out fast so I can get back to my work meetings! The line may look long but they are fast and always super friendly!
I also love that they cater to fresh healthy food. When you are from California... we expect that. When you travel it is often hard to find restaurants that are not fast food oriented.... ones that cater to healthy fresh food and also to those that eat gluten free... but Goodwins does!! Thank you so much! I hate to admit that I am on a constant diet but isn't everyone? Food, service and atmosphere is a testament to the character of Santa Barbara. A must for all!
Don't go for the food... View is fabulous. Waitress was great but I could hear the hostess wondering when we were going to leave. The inside was empty, tables outside too... .? Jeez! We left right after they gave us change. What more do you want? I will tell you what I want... $47 back.
My waffle tasted like it was made last night, so hard I could barely cut it. My husband ordered the hash. Mystery meat. Don't order... Wicked. I didn't even give to my dog.
I don't give many bad reviews. You can go on my trip advisor. But this is worthy... With so many fabulous restaurants in SB, get it together. I'm not coming back.
Rude, Rude, Rude!!!!!! They came to our townhouse on a Saturday night at 8 pm trying to sell carpet cleaning and who knows what else. When we politely said no, they would not accept that... and kept knocking, knocking, knocking on our door. It was threatening! We had to call security! They are a scary group.... Stay away!
Slow, slow service. mediocre food. Went there 2 days after Thanksgiving due to family in town. Took an hour from our order to the food being put down. Then they told my father in law they were out of au gratin potato's. I order filet of sole. One
piece of filet of sole and a hunk of white rice. I was hungry by the time I got home. Muffins were at least 2 days old. Go over the hill for some real food at real restaurants.
Very professional, excellent communication, friendly staff & movers, on time, competitive prices... does it get better than this?
I used them about 8 years ago when I moved across town and now when I had to move some items from Oxnard to Valencia. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs moving services small to large!
