this place was awesome! portions were bigger than expected! i decided to try something other than my usual chicken katsu. i wanted to try the spicy chicken. unfortunately, it wasn't spicy enough for me. in fact, it wasn't spicy at all! it's ok. sriacha fixed it!
service was EXCELLENT! dude at the counter was really helpful and friendly.
I was reunited with Nordstrom Rack thanks to a Groupon!! The selection was great! Better than the one in Oakridge most likely because it has more space! The line was pretty long, but the service I received was wonderful so it totally made up for it! They ran out of the black thin hangers on the floor, so I asked the kind lady at the register if they had more. Expecting her to say that all the have is out there, she asked someone to check under the display. Low and behold....I was in luck!!!! She handed me 2 more sets of 10 hangers and asked if I wanted any more. They were brand new-plastic bag still on them. The lady even asked me if I wanted her to remove the plastic! I'm pretty picky about customer service so I was pretty impressed by how professional and helpful the staff was!
This place was great! Although a little small inside and could get crowded....the crepes were pretty good! Comparable to Genki Crepes!! Even if you don't find seating inside, there's plenty of seating just outside of it. And the prices are decent. Will come back again when we're in the area!
When we walked in, we were not greeted right away because they were very busy. We basically had to ask if we could sit at the sushi bar. I'm used to being offered that-not ignored just because there are no tables available.
They didn't even give us any menus. After sitting a while, the oh so nice Sara W. got up and gave us the to go menus. My bf and I ordered sushi rolls. I have to say, I don't know if it was because I was sitting watching the sushi chef make all the rolls, or if it's because it really did take a long time. It felt like he did 15 other orders before he got to ours. And as soon as he started ours, he didn't even finish it. He prob did 2 at a time, and I think we ordered 7 rolls total. But my bf, and our friends were nice enough to wait for me.
If it wasn't for the freshness of the sushi, I prob would've given the place 2 stars. But wow, I can't deny how fresh the sushi was. It would melt in my mouth!
It also felt like it took forever for our check to arrive. We ended up going to the front and personally asking for it. The guy up front didn't even look at us because he thought we were waiting for a seat. Until I asked him for the check-that is when he paid attention to us and became nice. Their sushi really saved them from a worse review!
The restaurant itself could use a little pick me up/makeover. Not all the tvs work and it seems a bit grungy in there.
We got a Medium pizza. We did half veggie works and half bbq chicken. the pizza was all right, but the SERVICE was HORRIBLE. First off, we weren't greeted by the worker. She had such a horrible attitude and it was so obvious she did not want to be there. Her name is Isabel-and YES I PUT HER ON BLAST. Isabel did not smile once while we were there; the whole time it sounded like she was either mumbling or speaking too fast. I could barely hear or understand her.
After our pizza was done, she sat with her coworker and took a break. A few minutes later, a customer walked in. She made a really mean face and rolled her eyes. She did the same thing when another customer walked in.
Yes, I know it sucks to work on Thanksgiving weekend, and not take a full 15 min break because a customer walks in. But keep in mind that it's those customers that are the reason you even have a job!!!! So at least look like you're happy to be alive or something or else customers won't want to see your crabby looking face anymore. A very Americanized Japanese joint. However, I can't deny that the sushi here was pretty good. One bad thing is I thought they gave me the wrong order so I asked a server to tell us what each sushi on our table was. Everything was ok until he mentioned sushi that none of us ordered. We asked them to replace it with the one we did order. The waitress came to our table and basically said the server was wrong and that was what we ordered. She seemed kinda upset/angry, but that's ok, I believed her.
They were good at refilling our waters and tea. Although, I have to say that their tea isn't very hot and neither is their miso soup. Personally, I like my tea and soups hot, not like it's been sitting out for a few hours, ya know?
I think I'll have to try this place during happy hour!! Maybe I'll have a better time since the prices will be lower!
Wow! Such a great experience! The teacher was great and so was the energy of our group. We were the 1st group of the morning!
Anyways, my only gripe would be the end. We were sitting around like dumb dumbs waiting for our dvd to be ready and it never came cuz they thought we didn't order one. GREAT. Anyways, that was fixed right away and we left smiling because we got our DVD like we asked and were anticipating our arrival home to see the pics we ordered emailed to us.
YEAH, everything was great til we realized we didn't receive any email!! My mom called them and they said they have no record of us ordering pics. GREAT. Then, they asked us to drive over there and pick out the pics over again. YEAH RIGHT. To drive all the way from San Jose to Union City because they made a mistake? RIIIIIGHT. I told my mom to suggest they send us all the pics thru email since they made a mistake. They agreed. I think if we never suggested that, we still wouldn't have any pics.
All in all, we had a great experience "flying," but make sure you get your DVD and pics settled before you leave.
Went here for my dad's bday. Last time I ordered the calamari appetizer, it seemed like there was too much calamari. We weren't able to finish it. This time, for some reason, not only did it seem like the calamari was less than half the serving it was before, but it was very salty.
The service is VERY slow, so if you're trying to get in and out, DO NOT eat here.
My bf was stuck in traffic and he gave us the go ahead to start eating without him. (I ordered for him).
My family and I were so annoyed that our waitress never asked to refill our water or bread. And on top of that, she was in a hurry to clear our table and put my bf's meal in a to go box. How dare she ask to put his food away before even asking how our food tasted, and if we needed any drink refills or more bread. I once have been in this situation before where I ordered for someone who was running a little late, but received BETTER service than this place (refer to my review on Cheesecake Factory in Palo Alto). Maybe I was spoiled at CF? Even so, I didn't reveive 1/4 of the service I did at CF.
Needless to say, I will NEVER return here!!
I don't think I'll be returning any time soon. WOW! The people shopping here are creepy. Staff was friendly when I went here. The guy at the register started a random convo with me regarding when I bought. Other than that, this place is not for me. It's pretty grungy and although the prices are somewhat low, I would rather driver a little farther, pay a little more, than chance getting mugged or something at this location.
LOVE this place!! They've got parking in the back but they fill up quickly on peak hours.
Food is fantastic. Calamari appetizer mmmmmm.
Sisig....heart attack waiting to happen but SOOOO worth it lol.
