I guess it's hard not to be biased about this place, since I do like Chowking back in Manila. Comparing the taste, they seem to be the same or don't deviate much from the Chowking back in the Philippines. Although they don't have the chilli garlic sauce here. :(
I think you pay a bit for nostalgia. Some of the food seem over priced for what is basically franchised filipino-chinese fast food. But I think some of the meals have better value. The Lauriat has a lot in it's plate, ulam (entree), pansit (noodle), kanin (rice), and buchi for dessert. The Silogs with two entrees have great value too.
I also liked the beef wanton soup back in Manila and the one here tastes the same. Although there were a few times that the temperature of the soup didn't seem hot enough.

I love their sisig! Sadly I have a long distance relationship with it. Sadly, Seattle is 3hours away just to get that sizzling goodness again. Let us not forget the other guilty pleasure, crispy pata. I know it is cliché, but let me say, "extra rice!"
If you are not willing to indulge yourself too much, you may just want to get the classics. Ofcourse their fried chicken and and lumpia. It is essential that you use the banana ketchup. Yes I said ketchup. Not "banana sauce" as appropriated by the western marketing.
As we say. "Sarap to the bones."
Been frequently going here for about 3 years. I was disappointed in the not-so-friendly service and not being able to use my card at first... but then I tried the pho and that changed my mind. Their broth was very much to my liking and the portions were great. I later realized that the language barrier probably gave me the impression of "bad service". Then I think to myself, "I can just come in, take a seat, order number 10, then enjoy. I did come here for the food, not the chit chat". It is still my favorite Vietnamese Restaurant in the area.
Also try their broken rice plates, coffee, and the soda with the egg yolk. Yummy.
There a lot of places where you can get Pho' along MLK but this this place stands out for me. Their broth suit to my taste better and their menu has a good selection. The price is really good for their servings too.
