Decided to try this place with my hubby for Valentine's tonight.
Good: Complimentary valet parking (though the hubby didn't like it); Nice lounge/bar area; we had Dungeness Crab Cakes (loved it) and shrimp cocktail for starters, both had grass fed Filet Mignon, and had their special dessert Red Velvet Cake (pictured). Our server, Don was awesome! We'd definitely come back again!
Bad: The main course did take long but we didn't mind much since we had each others company =) [Valentine's = approved mushiness]
It's a month before my wedding and they still haven't contacted me with a photographer!
The coordinator emailed me two months ago informing me that they are "ready" to match me with a photographer but we just need to answer a few questions and grade a bunch of pictures to see what we like. What was the point of our consultation? Was our conversation just through out of the window? We've told them in the beginning what we like and don't like in our photos.
When we finally did answer those questions, we never got a response back. Was it our job to follow up with them to inform them we're done grading the pictures?
When I had an inquiry regarding the engagement session, i was told the earliest time they can book us is a week, yes a week before the wedding! And the prints won't be ready then and even though we book an earlier session, they still woudn't be ready for the reception. What the heck is the point of the engagement photos?
So we've decided to cancel our photography contract with Bella. And spoke to the consultant we first dealt with. The only thing I liked is that she does response very fast but she made it hard for us to cancel all this gibberish talk about not being able to find a photographer at this time, well you know what? We did and we're talking to the photographer himself! And she had the nerve to say that they have tried to contact me about the matched photographer. BS! Who tried to contact me? I neither received that email or phone call. You think something important as that will be ignored? Ugh. The only other good thing is that we'll get the whole refund in 21 days except for the $50 for booking them in the beginning.
Well my advise to all brides. DO NOT BOOK WITH BELLA!!!! As what another photographer said, they are just a walmart photography. No offense to walmart, in fact I like walmart! But if you want really good quality products, would you go to walmart?
Went here last Friday for a friend's birthday. I tried their fried mac n cheese and avocado egg rolls, they were delish! A serious comfort food! For entree, I tried one of their specials, the salisbury steak. I wouldn't say it was great, but good. The staff was very friendly. I wouldn't mind trying this place out again =)
I had their tapsilog twice... it was just ok, i can have better tapsilog in other filipino places like Kuya's or Ongpin.
But I would still come back here. I love their westlake minced beef soup, arroz caldo with chicken and longsilog with rice... Yummmm!!!
I would give 0 star for this place, I didn't even get the chance to try their food!
My sister visited me from San Jose and has been talking about how good Thai food is (I know I'm missing a lot!), so I decided to try this place out with her.
There was only one table occupied when we got there. The staff saw us and didn't even bother to smile or even go to us to seat us. We had to wait about a minute to get seated and the reception didn't greet or smile to us!
The place wasn't very sanitary looking and with the rude staff, we didn't want to take any chances so we just walked out... I wouldn't come back to this place or recommend this to anyone!
I love their texas bbq ribs and famous baby back ribs with corn bread and texas toast! Yum! Although I didn't like their brisket and chicken bbq. The place is clean although sometimes I find that some of the booth's seats can be sticky from bbq sauces, but then again, I just grab the booths when I see it available because it's more comfy than their regular tables and most people grab these first. So I don't really mind, but I'd recommend to check the seats first before you use them just to be sure! They have great customer service! I don't know if they've done it before, but they started coming up to each tables and asking if guests needed anything or if everything was ok! I was surprised but pleased at the same time =)
Me and my bf went down to Salinas for 4 purposes:
1) Vacation close by
2) Spend a day in Monterey; save money by driving there and staying here (Hotels in Monterey are pretty hefty! even if they're a sucky inn!)
3) Breaking in my bf's new car
4) Check out the FIRST Annual Asian Fair*
The Good: Service was ok, ample private parking, room was nice (we had a one-bedroom king room; living room area, full kitchen with a small table with two chairs); Close to a shopping center.
The Bad: Internet was free but it sucked! I think they were having problems with their server so it might've not been their fault (I understand, I work in hospitality industry); But they really need to upgrade their breakfast! One of the reason why we (or rather I) picked this place because it says they have hot breakfast and we were dissapointed! We decided to go out and look for McDonald's.
*The Ugly: Not the hotel but the fair we went to! I've never been to a fair where they send you to different streets and go to specific establishments to check out the "entertainment" or what they have. I guess we learned our lesson, I should've paid more attention to: F-I--R-S-T fair. Goosh!
I have no problem with their food. But they seriously need to do something about their service! Last time I went here, it was busy so my friends and I were willing to wait for almost half an hour (we were hungry and it was after 2 AM so most restaurants were obviously closed). After we got seated, we were waiting for another half an hour for someone to notice us! I even told the person who seated us that we were ready to order but we were still ignored! It seems that they were more concern on seating people rather than serving them. We walked out and decided that we'd have more luck on going to a fast food drive thru!
I love this place! I come here about once a week! Food's great, prices are good, service is great but parking is not so great, you have to find street or garage parking. This place is a bit cramped(so people PLEASE do NOT bring your 5+ party here especially on a weekend! Unless you like waiting about 1/2 hr to an hour before you get seated then go ahead). I would definitely come back here again and again and recommend to friends!
