First of all, the service is superb.  Our waiter was fantastic in describing the specials, answering our questions about the menu and was attentive. We only ordered drinks, appetizers and salads and were quite full.  The double lobster bisque, grilled octopus, the beet salad and the avocado salad were all delicious.  Before leaving we went to use the bathroom and the manager personally checked the bathrooms beforehand to make sure they clean and well stocked. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We went to Petrossian for my sister's birthday and we were treated to a night of caviar and champagne.  Our party of four was doted by the staff and each dish was an aesthetic creation that we hesitated before eating  and  the works of art.   A shrimp ceviche topped with a succulent piece of raw tuna topped with caviar and duck pate with foie gras perfectly complemented with apricot preserves.

This place gets 5 stars just for their eggplant parmigiana. It is one of my favorite dishes and I crave it regularly and am extremely picky when it comes to this dish. San Vito's is one of two places that I know that make eggplant parmigiana the way I like it. They peel the eggplant, sliced lengthwise and thin, no bread crumbs...I actually want to taste eggplant not bread crumbs. A side of spaghetti with my glass of cabernet and I am a happy, happy girl.

Eileen M. (my sister) usually orders the seafood special which always looks delicious but I always get the eggplant because there are so few places that make it right -- I feel it is my only option. We usually share a salad. Their salad portions are big and can be shared family style. The appetizers and desserts are also very good. This is my favorite Italian spot.

Jenny has been doing my nails for years and her business is the equivalent of a barbershop for men where the client is more than an anonymous customer. Yes, for $20 I get a beautiful manicure (acrylic fill-in) with the latest colors from OPI, Essie or China Glaze. The friendship I have with Jenny and the conversations with whomever has an appointment before or after you is what brings me back every two weeks. I would never go to anyone else to get my nails done. I would feel like I am cheating on Jenny lol.

OK I had to search the address to find this listing on yelp. The place is now called Wall Street Bath House. My sister made the arrangements and I didn't even look up the website. I find that part of the newly unemployed I am too busy doing nothing to even bother looking up websites hahaha. Anyway, I was underwhelmed with the facilities. Though the facilities were clean the place is not luxurious. The fact that my key didn't work on my lock, I was already naked and not about to get dressed again to get another key, so I stuffed my clothes into my sister's tiny locker. Then we learn that we needed $5 to rent the robes but we locked our wallets with the front desk. Then we wandered the joint and figured out what was what. So my biggest complaint is that this place is probably an authentic Russian Turkish bathhouse missing on good ole' American customer service. But don't get me wrong, once I was in the eucalyptus steam room all my frustrations sweated away. We went to the whirlpool that was luke warm and swam in the pool to cool down after the OMG HOT stone sauna room.

After we worked up an appetite we took a break in the restaurant. We ordered "Moscow style" Pelmeni (dumplings smothered in cheese and mushrooms), stuffed cabbage and I believe lamb shish kebobs. My friend ordered a Russian beer which was surprisingly refreshing, surprising to me, since I don't like beer then a kettle of tea which was served with honey and a cherry jam. This meal was the highlight of the day. The Pelmeni were delicious, next time we are getting two orders. I liked the stuffed cabbage but my sister and friend weren't as impressed. I thought the lamb shish kebob were just blah and not worth the $18. I am also happy to say that I drank tea, Russian style and loved that cherry jam in my tea. If I go back, it's for the dumplings and the tea. I know kind of ironic that I am going to a Russian joint for tea and dumplings.

I went to Powerhouse Lounge for their NFL Sundays which is a brunch/tailgate party that is of course on Sunday from 12:30 pm to 5:00 pm. There is a guy that collects $25 (cash) at the door and you get to eat and drink as much as you like. We didn't get there until 2 pm so we missed out on the comfy leather sofas and the breakfast fare. Next time I will look into the VIP seating that I believe is reserved for groups and a waitress serves you, otherwise you need to go to the buffet area to get your food. Nonetheless we had seats and could clearly see the game from the various TV screens throughout the room. And the deal can't be beat, I must have had 5 mimosas, my sister had two light beers (she was driving) and my cousin had 3 bloody mary's (and she got there later than we did) -- drinks alone, we got our money's worth. As for the food: We had oven baked pizza, cheese ravioli, paninis, sliders, hot dogs, french fries, zitis in meat sauce, scallops wrapped in bacon, etc. The only reason why I didn't give them 5 stars is because the waitress never came to our table that was all the way in the back and ask us if we wanted any drinks. I saw her serve the people in front of us and pass our table but never asked if we wanted a drink. Hey the drinks are free and I didn't have a problem going to the bar to get my drinks but I needed to point that out. The bottom line is that it is a nice venue to watch the game, eat, drink and be merry.

This place is small and cramped because the tables and chairs of the restaurant are literally taken out to create a dance floor. It has been over a year since I have been there but when the music is right, it's out of sight. Dancing is synonymous to a religious experience and when Ralph is at the DJ booth you will see the face of God.
I have learned that Ralph has since transcended to Room 84.

I went to Hiro for a birthday celebration, two to be exact and we had no problems getting in a) there were about 6 hot girls in our group and b) we were getting bottle service.  Yes, it looks very nice, I guess, but the music wasn't that great and that's why I go to a dance club, to dance, duh.   Also, it would be nice if there were some cute guys and I didn't see any of them, so I can only muster two stars for Hiro. I had a good time regardless because of the people I partied with that night -- but we have a good time wherever we go.

I learned that my favorite DJ Ralph from Madison was now at Room 84.  My sister and I were feeling nice after two bottles of wine and wanted to go out dancing.  Since I was at a bbq earlier, I was not dressed for a night club per se but I had a low cut top and skirt (okay I was wearing flip flops) but that didn't excuse the unwelcome feeling we received at the door.  The fact that is was the Sunday before Labor Day and the place was totally dead you would have thought they would have been nicer.  Puhleez,  I was at Hiro the week before and was treated like a Queen at the door in comparison to the snobs at this place.  So even though Ralph, the greatest DJ in the world, was playing that night we didn't venture inside.

It has to be at least a year since my one and only visit to 49 Grove.  A friend that knew the owner made a call and before we knew it, we were drinking and dancing the night away. I remember it being small, but big enough to get bottle service and a table.  I don't remember much about the decor, the music or the people except that I had a good time and at the end of the night that's all that matters in my book.
