Exactly what I was looking for when I wanted Mediterranean food.
They had a line out the door and the place only had a handful of crowded tables, a few bar stools and 3 outdoor tables. But the reviews can't lie so I soldiered in.
Filet Mignon Beef Kabob Wrap- WOW. the portion was 2 meals worth; the meat was juicy and tender, the sliced potatoes was perfectly seasoned with a kick of lemon and do yourself a favor and ask for extra green sauce. Everything down to the garnish was Mediterranean and well thought-out.
The service is great and they keep coming around to check on us even though it was jam packed.
A bit overrated and overpriced. I have ups and downs about this place. They offer pastries, fresh juice and smoothies as well as cafe food. We came here for brunch, approached the counter and was staring at the menu when we heard "Are you guys ready to order?" We're glad she acknowledged us by asking but my friend exclaimed that it was our first time while leaning in but either she didn't hear us or she just zoned out. The cashier wasn't exactly a friendly and warm.
I got the Breakfast at Tiffany's- sundried tomatoes, egg whites, avocados, and turkey deli meat. It was good! But not $13 good for a small portion messy scrambled eggs and a few pieces of fruit The smoothies were filling and $5 each. It was a cute place to sit down but not a great brunch place atmosphere at all. It would be much better to have your food to go and enjoy the beach with your meal.
The last time I went, there was a sewers problem that was dripping down to the parking downstairs. I was a tad concerned and we sat to order but shortly after, the chef came out to personally apologize that they have to close due to the sewers problem. I'M SO GRATEFUL! Instead of staying open, they immediately addressed sanitary issues and that was an A+ in my book.
Next time I came, the bar was full so we sat in the dining area booth.
-$6 margaritas all the time :)
-great beers on tap
-Filet Mignon Poutine- delicious.... however it was shreded beef and was a bit dry. Still worth the bite!
-Calamari- not incredibly breaded, outstanding cocktail sauce, and perfectly crispy
-now...Fish and Chips- standard but what stoody out was the tartar sauce. If it was homemade, it is incredible...
However..our waiteress asked us to choose a side salad that came with the entree and the salad never came. When I asked another waitress about it, she claimed that it does not come with a salad. Our other waitress had been MIA after delivering the food and we had to catch everybody else that walked by. Also there was an obnoxious loud party smack dab in the middle of the restaurant. I understand it's a bar and grill but holy crap, we were looking at all the other booths all confirming they just did not enjoy their dining experience. Only thing that compensated for the service and atmosphere was the chef who came out to check on everybody's meal. So maybe it was just a bad night to go but there's my two cents.
After a handful of spicy ramens I've tried, this is the only place that hits my spicy sweet spot without compromising flavor!
-CHECKIN for 2FREE TOPPINGS! [my choice is corn and fresh garlic]
-Standard $9-13 bowls
-Low key so no wait the last few times I've gone.
-Spicy miso is my go-to
-Koi Ramen is great or any of the ramens level 1-5 if you're feeling the spice level.[level 5-10 is the challenge]
-Garlic bomb is incredibly garlic-y and I thought that's not possible but nope, not a favorite but great idea.
-Any of the chashu is a little overcooked.
-Serves alcohol! yay :)
Enjoy!26/08/2015 Thank you for your review. :-)
Got the iced coffee and a pear/cinnamon coffee cake. Both delicious and the slice of coffee cake was humongous. Price is average with a while lot of choices and the menu looked overwhelming. Also serves food -seems pretty popular.
Customer service was good but not above and beyond. Great place to study and do some computer work but many hover over the powerstrip to keep their laptops and electronics charged.
Park a block or two away in the residential area for 1-2 hours free :)
$40 with online coupon, in and out excellent service with my smog check certificate all taken care of!
Also, embarassingly forgot my wallet and I offered my phone as hostage but they were kind enough to allow me to leave with my car to go get it. Yay.
Great Pho [sometimes might be overcooked noodles],
Great non-greasy broth.
Huge pho portions.
Wide variety menu.
VERY HAPPY with this place.
I stumbled on this place to pick up a takeout bowl of pho and have been back since. I love their takeout containers and how it is still arranged so that my food is presentable and delicious. The man up front [cashier? owner?] is always incredibly friendly and makes damn sure we're seated, approached and served promptly. This last visit, I ordered the grilled pork spring rolls as well. If these spring rolls were as good as the infamous Brodard's in Westminster, I would give this place 5 stars. But if you want pho and pho is all you want, get it here.
Great local beer with great service.
Took home a growler of the Fallen Archangel IPA but was a hard choice between that and the Highland Sinner oatmeal stout, Possessed Joe and surprisingly the John Bullington's bitter [a british gem!]. The tasting room and bar is on the smaller side but just enough for locals. When i was there, there was no food truck so was a little bummed but they have nice palate cleansing snacks. Kids and dogs welcomed! To make the kids and DDs feel less left out, they have their own rootbeer and cream soda! I was too bloated to try the soda but i'll be back soon.
Great addition to your Torrance Brewery hop :)
Remember to call an Uber instead ... don't drink and drive!
I love the Grand Central Market. However, thanks to hipsters and new trends, prices keep getting higher. It's a great place to take your out-of-town friends since it's a historical site, there's validated parking available and everytime i do this, I have them stop by the Bradbury building across the way as well. Otherwise, it's also a good place to gather super undecisive eaters since they practically have everything you crave in one spot and most of the places are decent eateries. Personally, love Eggslut, G&B coffee, McConnell's Creamery and everything that has a line deserves a try [the deli, mexican food, nomnoms].
1 taco = 2-3 tacos
1 lengua torta= lengua + ham + thick mystery jerk meat
So my review was based on those. On this popular, long cafeteria line, I saw mounds and piles of meat and sauce. This is by far not the best taco I've had; the tortilla was flaky and meat was too chewy and tough. It was just below lightly seasoned. And I ordered a lengua torta which I assumed was going to be a lengua torta. I was expecting a soft bite, chew and swallow, but there was a big piece of jerky-like meat I wasn't suspected which didnt allow me to bite all the way through and made my torta super messy. I couldnt eat my torta the way a torta was suppose to be eaten though I liked the idea that there were all these additional ingredients.
The place is busy though! They must be doing something right :)
