Having lived in NYC for over 10 years, I know better than to hold any buildings to high living standards. But 15 Cliff really takes minimal living standards to another level.
There were no hot water for 2-3 weeks after moving in middle of May. Then we alternated between only hot/warm water and only cold water (not both) for a couple months. During this entire time, building-wide water shutdown would and still happen once a week. The 10-minute wait time for elevator that other reviewers have mentioned is true, though it's gradually getting better as we passed the peak construction activity (hopefully!) and the contractors no longer occupy one of the two elevators. Oh, for some reason, the building gave each unit new appliances, just not newer air conditioners. So... have already gone through 3 broken air conditioners in the past 3 months. It typically takes asking multiple doormen and days to resolve a service request.
It's really a shame because the building has so much potential (in terms of apartment size, location, convenience, etc.).22/09/2015 Thank you for taking time to provide a review of your experience at 15 Cliff. As you have noted, we… En savoir plus
Massage quality at this place really depends on the masseuse. Some of the female masseuses don't really know what they are doing. But Peter is the real deal! He is very knowledgeable about how to loosen tight knots and applies just the right amount of pressure. He really makes the $48/hour rate a steal.
This salon is really for people who are looking for great value.
I have been a regular to this salon for years. As far as I can tell there are also lots of regular here. $29 mani pedi, $9 manicure, and $25 wax, can't beat that price! They accept credit cards too for the same prices.
Be sure to ask for Mary who is the best in waxing. She has been doing waxing for over 12 years - definitely the most experienced in the salon. She does a very thorough job and makes sure its fairly painless. She is also great with mani pedi. My mani usually last over a week!
It's a good idea to make an appointment in advance as the salon can get really busy.
Stumbled upon Hou Yi on Chinese New Year - what a great find ! $24 ayce hot pot or noodle in hot pot soup for $5-8. Chinatown finally has a great hot pot spot!!
Place is not exactly decorated so just focus on the food. Cash only.
