Call me a Thai snob, but after all the hype from friends and other Yelpers I was expecting more. I stopped in for a quick lunch with some co-workers during an all day meeting. I was happily amazed at the low prices, my lunch special was around $8! What a steal! But I was put off by the lack of cleanliness of the restaurant and also the service was very transactional.
I am a fan of super spicy thai food so when I ordered a dish with 4 stars I was surprised that is contained no spice to my taste. I inquired with my server who confirmed my order was correct. It was a fast, quick, and cheap lunch but I don't see myself returning anytime soon, there are better thai places around and I'd rather pay a little more to get something I'm happy with.
If you are looking for a Downtown clean and cute nail salon Myano is a great option. I have only had mani/pedi's there so I can't speak to the quality of Shellac there, however the quality of the regular manicure and pedicures is good compared to a typical shop. I think the biggest bonus about this salon is they have plenty of seating if you have a larger party.
However, one night after work I went with a co-worker of mine and we asked to be seated together at the front desk and they charged us a couple bucks for that! We walked to the back where the chairs were and we were literally the ONLY people there, I was irritated because we had clearly been nickeled and dimed for no reason. I would go back only because of the location and the amount of seating
Are you a beer connoisseur? If you are anything like my husband, you will feel like you have died and gone to heaven when you step into World of Beer. Yes, you have to trek all the way out to Renton, but this place is worth it! They have drafts and bottles. Their is a wide range in price as well. You have everything from affordable beers to very pricey special occasion beers. I was happy they had a robust selection of lambics, not many bars offer that type of beer and especially not that type of selection.
The only downside is they don't have their own kitchen, probably because the entire bar is stuffed full of beer! However, they partner with many of the other restaurants in The Landing and you can call and have them deliver right to your table! It's especially awesome if you can't agree on what to eat for dinner!
I found it very useful that they allowed us to try samples of beers we weren't sure we wanted to order. I'm glad I did because one of them I was certain I would fall in love with I ended up hating! Saved me a good $8 and the knowledgeable server was able to offer up recommendations based on what I was ordering.
Since they have such a big selection and constantly change their draft beers we will definitely be back! Next time, we are bringing all his beer buddies too!
Can anyone say AMAZING? If you are in the Columbia City area and are in the mood for a taste-bud-gasam, do yourself a favor and make a reservation! Like all the other Yelpers, I found a Rez was critical to getting a table.
I took a friend of mine who has been to Seattle multiple times and she wanted a new neighborhood to explore. I love that they use fresh ingredients and change the menu frequently. I would suggest ordering a bottle of wine because it seems that is the most cost effective way to have drinks with your meal. Most of the wines by the glass were $10 and up. The service was friendly and attentive despite every table being booked on a busy Saturday night. I can't wait to come back with my husband and see what new items are on the menu!
I have mixed feelings about this place. Is the decor cute and girlie? Check! Are the cupcakes good? They were to me! Very moist and I liked the flavoring, check! The thing that was off putting was the manager (owner maybe?) was in the front of house assembling some cupcake stand while she grumbled about it and the wedding it was for. All while I was sitting there eating. I think the place really needs to up the ante for the customer service and professionalism. There are plenty of other places that have expensive cupcake that I don't feel unwelcome in that I'd rather spend my money at. Maybe if that could be corrected I would go back but I don't see myself venturing out of my way to rush back there.
My company had these cupcakes brought in for a birthday and wow were they great! What I loved about these cupcakes is that the frosting was very light, almost like whipped topping and it complimented the cake so well! I had the chai flavor and it was very good! I really appreciate these cupcakes because you can tell they use high quality ingredients. I will definitely be picking these up for the next function and after I do I will for sure be the office hero for the day!
Finally a Cherry St closer to the stadiums! Not only is it so great to be able to get a great cup of coffee before a game, they also have really tasty food available that is better and more affordable than stadium food.
The layout of this location is super awkward. If more than a couple of people are in line it looks like the place is swamped, but I'm just happy to have it in the area. The staff is so friendly and remembers my order every time I come in. They always go above and beyond with their customer service.
I recommend getting the bowl of soup which comes with a slice of bread for around $5, it's the perfect cheapo lunch and the soup is much better than the other deli's in the area. Keep your eyes peeled for Groupon's for this location and every couple of month's they offer deals!
Came here on a whim as the happy hour prices roped us in. We sat outside and it was nice and comfortable. The service wasn't anything to write home about but I wasn't unhappy with it either. The food was alright but I wish they would toast the buns of the burgers or something. Overall the food and service were okay but I wouldn't come back again because nothing about our experience stood out to us as being exceptional or above average. In fact, I'm pretty confident I can make a better burger. I guess you get what you pay for?
I have lived in this area for over 7 years and always come back to Bahn Thai. I love that they have a nice deck for outdoor seating, they are willing to make dishes super spicy and they have great service!
At one point a couple years back they were a little spotty as far as dish quality but they are since hired another cook and are back to there 5 star worthy self.
Not to mention they are so close to all of the theater's and the opera house it's a great before show place that won't break the bank! If I could eat here every night I would!
Only thing I don't love about this place are the cocktails, they are at best crappy. Stick to beer and wine if you are needing libation otherwise you will be disappointed.
Looking for a fun and moderately priced fun 90 minutes? Take a Let's Go Sailing cruise! We went for my birthday and had no trouble at all using our coupon (Amazon Local) and the online reservation system was super easy! However you can only book a week in advance so be sure to book asap!
The crew was very friendly and knowledgeable. They are happy to answer questions but there is not guided tour and I was just fine with that. I think this would be the perfect activity to do with some out of town folks because even the locals have fun. I mean how many times can one go up the Space Needle, am I right?
We will for sure be bringing our friends and family on this next time they are in town and next time I want to try the sunset cruise with my husband for a romantic trip out on Puget Sound.
Another cool thing is they let you bring snacks and drinks on board!
