You know what? Starbucks is Starbucks is Starbucks, right? Well let me tell you...Saskia and Gina. They're the reason for five stars here. The whole weekday morning crew are great, but these two are shining examples of what is needed at Sbux.
I've been coming here for five months now, and from day 1 they've treated me like Sbux family. They've known my order forever, they're always cheerful, and they really seem to care about my experience.
This is my home Starbucks.
My son and I have been taking Bolt for quite some time now between Seattle and PDX. We love it. It's fast (non stop), affordable ($30 ish round trip), clean, wifi and chargers, and driver Matt is about as courteous as you can get. A great service.
So again...Yelp, it sure would be nice to be able to give half stars.
I was torn between rating a 2 and a 3. Im going for a three star, giving the benefit of the doubt and kinda following the average.
I ordered a dbl bbq burger with spicy sauce and completed it with the meal deal. Total was just over $10 for the meal. Not really worth it. I've gotten better burgers and meals for same or less (Rain City Burgers comes to mind in Roosevelt).
Just to start, the gentleman behind the counter was nice enough. Had an air of being an owner of sorts.
The burger was very small and the beef wasnt very flavorful. The fries were plentiful but of the frozen variety. And the drink was small and flat. I expected much more. It wasnt horrible food. Just boring. The bbq sauce was decently spicy, but tasted like a market brand. And im not a huge fan of liquid smoke. If you want to have smoke-flavored food...smoke it. Don't do the liquid smoke thing.
They serve Texas Red Chili here. I'm now not sure if I'll order it in the future. I don't want a bowl of liquid smoke or store bought chili sauce. We'll see.
I wont go out of my way to come here. But if I were in this center again and was hankerin for a burger, I'd eat here. Just lower my expectations.
If you happen the be in Third Place Books, try the other restaurants first.
True rating is 2.5 stars.
This review is actually for the deli inside...go inside and get some affordable food. Good selection of sammiches, tacos, and breakfast. Nothing to write home about but gives you plenty of options. I enjoyed a beef and a chicken taco...plain but filling enough for three bucks! The giy behind the counter isn't very personable though or I wouldve given three stars. Gather everything you need from the station, place your order, and pay all at once...convenient, right?
This place looks and feels like a prison. Why some choose to come here for an education, I'm not sure. For me, I need to feel good about where I'm going to school.
I think Taco Time is decent, but the food isn't quite Qdoba or Chipotle. Still decent. A bit pricey, but better quality than say, Taco Bell. But I think they are a little higher tgan Chipotle and Qdoba but not sure why. Staff is very helpful with questions about the menu, which is good. Ill come here again, depending on what options I have.
Great job. Opening night, invite only. Considering the chaos with events such as this, it was running smoothly. We ordered four different burgers and they all were very good. Little things here and there, but all fixable. Same with the wait, it will only get better and faster. The place gets a little smoky with the cooking stones, but you come out smelling like steak...nothing wrong with that! Our server, Spurling, was fantastic. Very attentive. Very quick. Apologetic when needed...which wasn't much. The beers are awesome. The juke box is a cool feature. Be prepared, it can get a bit loud inside, but that's how a good pub should be...lively and convivial.
I used to really like Quiznos back in the early 2000's. But, for the most part, it seems that the uality and portion sizes have gone down while the prices have gone too high. I still eat here, just never leave satisfied, but always leave with a little regret. One thing I do enjoy is the libster salaf. Hard to find sammiches and rolls on this side of the US.
The ladies working here are very nice, letting me continue to get refills on my drink when I'm at bux next door. I appreciate that.
I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! My son and I come here for food in the restaurants, then wander around in the store and bookstore. We eat at all of the food places, so you can find individual reviews for them. My favorite place in the store is the produce section. So many different things compared to what I see in my local market. The meat department has some very fresh cuts also.
People are pretty friendly here. I always have questions, and they always happily answer them. Sometimes I wish I lived in the apartments above the store.
Be careful at night, lots of sketchy people walking around. Nothing has happened to me, I'm just cautious.
Just out walking around at night and I run into this gem. It was empty, but that never bothers me much...I had pork tacos on housemade tortillas. I felt like I was back in Mexico! The salsas had so much flavor, but I didn't put salsa on two tacos because the meat was so delicious on its own!
I live close enough to PDX, but I usually stick with food carts. Now I have a great Mexican joint to go to. Ill be bringing people here next time!
