This place was recommended by our hotel so we gave it a try the day before leaving Paris. Menu had many options, service was excellent and prices and quality were great!

The crepes were good (although I liked Josselin more, I think) but I agree with some of the other comments that the service could have been better. We were the only people in the place and it was still really slow and took forever for our food to come out. I think the 3.5 average rating is about right.

This place was right up the street from our hotel. I found it on yelp, it was well reviewed, so we gave it a try. The street it is on is Creperie central. It seems practically every other shop on this street is a creperie.

We started off with the Kir with Cider to drink. It was just okay. We've had better Kirs elsewhere.

I ordered the Eflamme which has sausage, egg, cheese and a mustard sauce. Without the mustard sauce it is good, but with the mustard sauce it is outstanding. My daughter got the Port Launay, which has spinach and goat cheese. My wife got the Enogat with potatoes, bacon, cheese and onions.

The service was prompt, friendly and helpful (though he spoke only broken English).

The ambiance is typical, part outdoor and part indoor seating.

The prices are good at around 9 Euro each for these crepes.

      Delicious Crepes ...

This was a great little creperie only 5 minutes from the hotel in Montparnasse. There were outside tables and it appeared that locals ate there. We took a table and ordered some drinks: cidre and blonde beer from Brittany.

The attendant brought the menu over: a 3' by 4' chalk board with all the galletes (crepes) they made. It took a while to decide since there were over 30 combinations between lunch crepes and sweet crepes. See pictures posted: smoked salmon with creamed spinach (so creamy and salty salmon) and seafood with mussels, scallops, cheese, and a roasted pepper sauce.

The crepes were delicious and filling. They were the best. When in Paris, eating crepes is a must, and Saint Malo will make the best.

This is the best in town! Excellent service and friendly amazing staff! A must if you are in the area!
My mother had been wanting to try crepes for the longest time and she was so excited to come here. By no means were we disappointed! They have a wide variety to choose from and anything on the menu sounds amazing. The buckwheat I had was very savory. So good. My mother requested that they make hers with the sweet crepe batter instead and the waiter was looking at her like she was a bit off but he was like ok we will try it. She loved it and so did the chef! He though it was very cool that she asked for that. The service there was truly amazing and the guys were so welcoming.
I have to say that out of all of the places to choose from we returned here again for our last meal in Paris. We were welcomed with open arms, and complimentary wine! They made our orders the exact same way from three nights ago from memory! They could not believe and appreciate more that we had returned. The chief and same waiter were there and hugged my mom as she was their favorite lady lol. The best service I have ever had. We left tip with euro and I was running low so I gave the the rest of my American money too lol
The food is amazing, the setting is quaint and the experience was unforgettable. Would go back in a heartbeat.

I really wanted to like this place, after all the reviews raved about it....Perhaps it was the grey weather of the morning I came or the fact that I was the only patron in the restaurant? I don't know, but my savory crepe was just ok. I had the one with caramelized onions, potato, cream and bacon. I mostly picked at it. I also had the Cidre Rouge and it was ok. I guess if the ambiance was bit better I would have better things to say, but it was mostly a depressing stop on my stroll through Montparnasse. There were 2 waiters on staff while I was there, and they mostly talked to each other while I sat at a table on the edge on the inner room. They seemed indifferent about my presence and happy when I signaled for the check.
This is the one place that I wouldn't return to on my recent visit.

I was really disappointed by the lack of eagerness to satisfy customers. We arrived at the restaurant and wanted a place for 5 people. The place was full and they set us to the restaurant next door owned by the same people, but there was a table for 4 available, so we asked to add another chair to the table for us, but the manager said it was not possible. I'm not really sure why we couldn't be seated and he basically shooed us off and suggested we go to another crêperie.
If you wanted more business, I would think they would do whatever possible to speed things along, because at the end of the day, we are paying customers.
I did not eat here so this would not be a full reflection of the restaurant as a whole, though we were take aback by how by unsatisfactory their customer service was.

Oh, this is what I'd been waiting for. This is the kind of dinner that separates Europe from North America. This is the good life.

Saint Malo is a lovely little shadowy cafe, all dark wood and private corners. The menu is scrawled upon a chalkboard, like so many others in Paris, line upon line of galettes (buckwheat, filled with savoury ingredients) and crepes (wheat flour, normally sticky sweet). I had the Maelyse, which had asparagus, gruyere, tomatoes, and artichokes. Does that sound good? It was good. It was as good as it sounds. The buckwheat pancake itself was a rich earthy brown with crispy edges. It looked as good as it tasted.

Along with our galettes, we ordered two bottles of dry cider (as an aside, we only got one bottle but were charged for two; they were a bit testy about our complaint on this point, but we did ultimately only get charged for one). It was the perfect complement to the meal, and gave a nice buzz to our conversation.

And that's what it's really about - sitting around as a group of friends. Back home we'd be gently (or firmly) ushered toward the door after our food was finished, but not here. The waiter came by every once in a while, but didn't seem the least bit concerned that we were taking our time and just enjoying the evening. No pressure to order more, and no bill landing on our table like a none-too-subtle hint.

We had many good meals during our week in Paris - but this one was excellent. Loved it. Would go back in a heartbeat.

While walking around in Paris we came across this street with dozens of creperies. Gladly we went in to Creperie de Saint Malo. In one word, Amazing! We tried their beef with pepper sauce and also the egg and buckwheat gallette. Wish I was able to order the whole menu but sadly we were running out of time in Paris but when we go back will definitively eat here again.

It can be hard to find an outstanding creperie in Paris but luckily we found Creperie de Saint Malo on Yelp and it lived up to the good reviews. Don't hesitate to try Creperie de Saint Malo even though there are 50 other creperies on the same block, it's really worth a visit. I really enjoyed their homemade non-alchoholic cider as I was a bit tired of drinking all that yummy wine. I had a mushroom, egg and cheese buckwheat galette and husband had a delicious beef one with pepper sauce on the side. They were amazing; the crepes were light, crispy and thin. We tried a sweet crepe for dessert filled with chestnut paste and had a coating of melted salted butter, it was AMAZING. The best crepe I've ever had and a amazing combination of sweet and savory.
