I've been to Villa Rixdorf twice before, with both occasions falling in the same week.
The menu is Italian, and pretty standard. Lots of vegetarian options, but literally nothing vegan here, unless you get a plain salad or ask for no cheese on the pizza.
But the beer garden is the main reason to be here. It's comfortable and big and the beer is cold and delicious. Perfect on a warm and sunny summer day. And considering the location, on the absolutely adorable Richardplatz, the people-watching is worthwhile.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Erin B.Berlin, Allemagne83297631 oct. 2012
We came here for a returning expat's party on a Friday and the place was dead. No matter! It was charming and we were told to expect something delicious from dinner.
A bit of sticker shock with many of the expected German options at 14 euro, we figured we'd go for it and ordered some schnitzel. It was...forgettable. Not the worst, but just some fries and 2 pieces of medium schnitzel. Hmmm. Not impressed.
The beer is brewed in house and is delicious, although - again - a little higher than our favorites at 3.50 euro. We were here on a cold fall night, but I am sure it is lovely in the summer beirgarten.
When it was time to pay the waitress had abandoned us. We hunted her down and she said she would be in from smoking shortly. 20 minutes....went looking for her again.....she'll come in a little. It took 1 hour to pay and get out of there after we first asked for our bill. Seriously displeased.
And to top it off, we paid our bill, but then there was one beer (hefeweizen) left on the group tab. She said we had had it - but we knew exactly what we had ordered and had paid for it. We think she charged us for a festbeer & hefeweizen and only served me the festbeir I ordered. Seriously unhappy, we just paid and left. Not our idea of a fun time or a good meal.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Lea K.Berlin, Allemagne417717 août 2015

Service tends to be little slow, but the food is great and good value. Eisbein 8.95, euros. If you really love to eat, order the supriseplatter 19.90 for two person Oh, and don't go sitting in the frontside terrace of the restaurant - backyard biergarten has so much more atmosphere and great decoration!

Good food and nice environment but SLOW service. Took us forever to get our food, bit when it came all was great (except that the one child in our party of 7 people got his food 10 minutes before everyone else, which is not supposed to happen, he was finished and bored by the time our food came).
Tasty food and big portions, except my soup which was tiny ;)
I will definitely go back, I had a positive experience and I really wanna try their undescribably huge pizza!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - N B.Kreuzberg, Berlin, Allemagne43048 nov. 2015
I hadn't been here for a while abd should have listened to the reviews: This place used to be nice but turned into a snackbar style restaurant. I liked the athmophere of Villa Rixdorf and the fact that they had honest German food, but the original crowd and most of the people are gone and now it's more like a tourist trap that looks like a traditional restaurant with untrained staff that seem to really hate their jobs. The food would be suitable for events like a batchelors party.

I happen to really like Villa Rixdorf. The food and service are just adequate in my opinion, but what really makes this place special is the courtyard/Biergarten. Very comfy and cozy! In fact, if it were purely for the Biergarten, I'd give 4 stars. The food is kind of a mixed bag - I usually go for the pizza, which at 5 euros for a huge veggie pizza, is a good value. The last time I went, the pizza was really overdone, but I'm hoping it was a just a fluke and I'll be going back.
