Cost for Pixel 7pro was $250.

They wouldn't honor the Yelp check-in offer.

Credit cards are an extra $20.

They gave me a written receipt.

Eid was very prompt and getting back to me.

There are gaps in the screen. But the phone is responsive.

Overall this was the cheapest option that I could find. But I don't know if I would use them again.

The thought of all you can eat sushi in the Heights makes so much sense, because the neighborhood really could use a legitimate option. I was really hoping that Sun could be the one, after all, they took over a formerly Japanese owned space. The food could use a lot of help but I think the customer service can stand to learn a lot as well.

From a decor standpoint not a lot has changed. The murals in the front are eye-catching and artistic and there is enough seating for most small groups and solo diners here. I have been here for both and I've noticed that they drop the ball on a number of service related issues. They do try, but I've noticed that they don't pay much attention

because it makes senA little heavy on the rice with the rolls.

A lot of service related issues.

Not sure how much time this place will be around but there are a lot of kinks that need to be worked out.

      Price is currently $22.95 / 36.95.

3 stars for hope, 2 stars is the true rating.

Dedicated parking for about 16 spots.

Price went up but they got rid of steak. Oof.

Gotta figure out this gnat problem.

It went from being a Japanese own spot to a Chinese own all you can eat place. That's America for you.

Sashimi is cut into little pieces.

While Narin's has been a mainstay for the better part of two decades, I can't help but wonder if their heydey has passed. My last few visits have been a little lackluster, marred by the subpar service and the skimpy fixings of their popular but ultimately disappointing lunch buffet. The kinks need to be ironed out, but the potential is still here.

The first thing one will notice is their parking situation. It's a narrow lot, followed a tight and awkward backlot. Coming here during non-peak times might be best to get an ideal spot. The door looks like something out of a medieval decor leading into a place that screams old school brasserie vibes. Beyond the white tablecloths, well dressed wait staff, and bar, it can feel strangely feel little stale. Heat haters (#1) will appreciate their ultra cold AC temps.

Like many places, the lunch buffet is a good starter for all the foods they offer. At $18, it's a solid lunch time but, despite not offering as many items as other places. I was surprised at how infrequently it was maintained: spillage around the buffet should be wiped immediately but the staff couldn't be bothered to oversee it.

Food wise, there were hits and duds. On the plus side, the saag paneer was wonderfully creamy, naan was crispy and fluffy without being too oily. I thought the gobi manchurian was sweet in a good way and was pleasantly surprised with their tasty daal makhani.

However, the basmati rice was incredibly dry, which is what happens when the sternos are on for too long. The same issue was happening with the vegetable pakoras and the tandoori chickens were very subpar. The tikka masala was lacking all around and the same goes for the navratan korma.

Same issues are consistent during all of my visits. I really do hope they iron out these issues because I do think they can get past this and hopefully return to the reputation that I've always heard about.

Amongst the many Vietnamese-Chinese places throughout Bellaire Chinatown, few have amassed a reputation as Sinh Sinh. Their share of the local fanfare has been a big part of their longevity, as they have become a perpetual late night destination and a reliable option for Asian comfort food and fresh seafood.

Sinh Sinh is the Viet-Sino term for 星星 or "Star Star" (#1) The food hardly has any star quality to it but it's still one of the better options when nothing else is open. Their popularity has made them synonymous with the Bellaire Chinatown dining scene.

Over the years they have expanded their dining area as well as their menu, effectively catering to everyone and everything. One can bring a large group or come solo, they have plenty of room. Parking is also easy, which has not been the case for many places in the neighborhood.

A lot of Cantonese items are available here, but none of them are particularly spectacular. Beef chow fun and scrambled egg with shrimp are easy go-to's for me, and I think their seafood is one of the underrated aspects of their menu. They also have a number of Cantonese roast meats but none have really stood out. The ladder also applies to their wonton noodle and many of their fried rice combinations. It's worth noting that the more intoxicated one is, the better all this food will taste. (#2)

Service is just okay. Vietnamese, Cantonese and Mandarin are all spoken by the staff. They take credit cards and have a dedicated parking lot. They are the busiest on the weekends, but the late nights are usually the best for people watching and for satiating the late night appetite.

Two thing in life that I love: pho and late night food. The concept of Pho Ve Dem (#1) perfectly suits my nocturnal lifestyle, all while guaranteeing pho lovers a chance at tasty glory even in the wee hours of the night. Open starting at 5pm, this is definitely a spot for nightlife folks just looking to cure their hangover with some very tasty pho.

It's a very modest interior for Pho Ve Dem. The place is not large and the decor they do have is very minimal. There are usually a mix of Vietnamese families and young people hanging out here. The bathrooms are not in the best of shape and the parking situation is a little tight beyond 5 spaces.

Take a peep at the menu and know that it's basically all pho. It's very straight forward and totally feels like a one-sheet of meat cuts and bowl sizes. I appreciate the beefy broth, which in addition to being fairly clean, was a little too easy to slurp. My bowl of dac biet goodness was devoured quickly and I was very impressed with how much meat was included. I thought the tendons, bo vien meatballs, and flank cuts were generous and abundant.

Service is going to be a crapshoot. Even for folks who speak Viet, the service can be a little rough around the edges and the vibe is super casual. The thought of waiters screaming orders across the room is not far off and to make matters more complicated, it's cash only. (#2)

Strangely, I was really into their strong Vietnamese iced coffee. After my late night food coma, I was happy to indulge in something that was potent but sweet. I anticipate I'll be back for more midnight bowls of pho.
